999891 tn?1407276076 I was Diagnosed as having trapped nerves in both my hands and right foot, this followed a nerve conduction Study a few weeks ago. I was wondering if others out there have had this happen, if it is a Chiari/syringomyelia issue.

Avatar m tn I sometime feel pain in the nerves of the foot (where boot lace is present), sometimes in the hand (back side where nerves can be seen) and sometimes in the back side of the leg. The pain is sweet pain and lasts for 1-2 seconds and disappears. When I seat in chair, sometimes I feel pain and it forces me to come out of seat or put my legs inside my buttocks to continue. It happens only sometimes and disappears in 1-2 mins.
Avatar m tn He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.
739070 tn?1338603402 Paresthesias indicate that something is wrong with the nerves... which means that everything attached to the nerves will also experience problems. Sometimes the damage continues, and you'll end up with weakness in one or more muscle group attached to that group of nerves. Sometimes the damage stops, and things heal up. There's really no way to predict which way it's gonna go!
Avatar n tn You are correct that foot infections can be a problem for diabetics. So don't apologize, for your question is a smart one... and yes, DO watch it carefully and clean it. You also might want to avoid wearing socks or shoes on that foot (slippers will keep the wound free of other contact) so as to avoid contact between the infected area and anything that might contain other bacteria. Do go to see your doctor soon, just to be safe.
Avatar f tn In November 2014, I had a spine fusion from L1-S5, where they fused the 3rd-5th Lumbers with a "cage". That was anterior. Posterior, they grafted a fracture with a human bone. Since coming home last week from the hospital the top of my left foot is very sensitive. Now I am experiencing pain running down the exterior of my legs. I hate pain meds, and take one Tramadol at night.
Avatar n tn I had surgery about 15 years ago for a prolapsed disc,I completely damaged my sciatic nerve. I have had a drop foot ever since. Does anyone know if there have been any new ideas on how to help this.
Avatar f tn I had a foot operation 5 weeks ago, now my foot feels like it is on fire. what can this be? should I go to the emergency room?
215164 tn?1269466240 Does anyone know what an abnormal nerve conduction study mean? Results were several conduction blocks in the lower leg and foot (I'm developing drop foot I think) and slowing of the velocity in upper and lower extremities. Anyone know what I *could* be looking at here?
Avatar m tn I am having all sorts of pain in my foot and leg and can't seem to get a diagnosis. So far, I've seen two podiatrists, neurologst, PCP, and will see an orthopedic surgeon in about a month. Last year I rolled over my big toe with a pallet jack that had a pallet on it at an old job. Well at the time it didn't break my foot or cause any bruising or any type of problem that required medical attention so I let it go.
Avatar f tn It could be related to neuropathy. Are you a diabetic? Either way, it can be caused due to nerves in your foot or leg causing you to feel this way. You should see a doctor to make sure that it is not a more serious condition.
Avatar f tn The other day I had a slight pain in my right foot. Like I pulled a muscle or something other. Last night it hurt worse. Hurt to step on it and hurt to put my shoes on. Tonight, it's so intense I want to cry. If I lift my foot up. Move my toes. Step on it. Anything it's terrible. I didn't do anything to my foot. No injuries or trama to it. I do however have server anxiety. And don't know if I should just rest it up, or rush to the doctor. -.
Avatar f tn Good morning. I have had foot pain in my right foot on and off since February of 2008. When I stopped running for three months my pain disappeared but it reappeared in February of 2009. I have since had it since then and am now starting to have pain in my left foot.
Avatar n tn After partial knee replacement I lost feeling in my foot. i now can move my toe, but still can't feel it. Does movement in my toe mean I am starting to get the feeling back?
Avatar f tn foot drop is where u lose the ability to lift your foot (obviously) -but there can be a few nerve related causes -these can originate from in the spine or anywhere down to the foot in question. it can be caused by physical damage eg tearing -as in my case, or compression, there are also some diseases that may cause it eg lou garics syndrome (not sure of spelling). Pregnancy can be a cause -usually mild.
Avatar f tn About three months after surgery, I began having stange sensations in my left foot. Although my foot is numb, I feel needles/pins, electrical impulses, and feelings of burning in my acheles, left side of foot and little toe. My PA said that when you have surgery in the S-1 area, the nerves are moved in order to get the cage in. I assume that nerves were damaged or cut in my back during surgery. My doctor said it might take a few months for the feeling to come back.
Avatar f tn Bone spurs on the foot are removed via an open procedure by cutting into the foot, taking care to avoid damage to tendons and nerves. After the affected bone is exposed, osteotome is used to remove the spur and the site is smoothened with a coarse file. The incision is closed with sutures. Hope this answers your doubts. Take care.
