567383 tn?1413084443 Hi, This could be an allergy or a fungal infection of the foot. Tinea Pedis is a parasitic fungal infection of the epidermis of the human foot. Several different fungi, called dermatophytes, can cause tinea pedis. It causes scaling, flaking and itching of the affected skin. Blisters and cracked skin may also occur. It is typically transmitted in moist environments where people walk barefoot, such as showers, bath houses, and locker rooms.
Avatar m tn At the age of 75 how long will it take to regenerate the cells of a broken bone in a foot?
Avatar f tn My dog was just diagnosed by our vet with atopic dermatitis as she has scabs on her ears and around one eye (scrape for mites was negative). She got an injection of vetlog and ampicillin and prescribed oral clavamox and chloropheniramine. I also bought her a soft E collar to keep her from scratching. A week later she is worse! Her ears are now weeping and very sore (she yelps to touch) and today she can't even shake her head or walk (I think from loss of balance).
Avatar n tn Verrucas are Warts that appear on the foot, that much I know. The scientific name for the virus is the Human Papilloma Virus which I think comes in about 60 varieties affecting the vaginal, oral and other areas and that it can take several months, since infection, for the verruca to develop, with no visible signs. She might well have an infection and not know about it; because it can take anything up to 20 months to develop.
Avatar f tn you have to consult a psychiatrist, i think you may have ocd, because normally you wont think like that you have an infection just because of your foot being bare, no matter how much you rationalize your mind will escape to another possibility so please consult a psychiatrist

The term "athlete's foot" refers to the disease and not the organism (fungus) that causes it. Several different fungi, called dermatophytes, can cause tinea pedis. The fungal infection is often treated with topical antifungal agents, which can take the form of a spray, powder, cream, or gel.
Avatar f tn A plantar wart (also verruca plantaris or verruca) is a wart caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) occurring on the sole or toes of the foot. Plantar warts are generally harmless and self-limiting, but should be treated to lessen symptoms (which may become painful)." Does that mean that anyone who has had a plantar wart has HPV and is contagious? Is this the same as genital HPV?

Avatar m tn that the skin was cracking (as if the bare foot had been dragged across a rough surface...which was not the case). Avatar f tn Hello Shilou, This is really important. Do not give your kitty the liquid amox you described. You are not a vet. You say you are positive that your cat has some kind of nasal infection. What is she doesn't have that. What if the sneezing is being caused by something else ? You should never give medicine prescribed for a human to a cat. It is very dangerous to the cat to do this. How many days has your kitty been sneezing ?
Avatar m tn About half way though after a long walk (26km) I got an infection on either side of my foot. I assumed it was a friction rash, but when I came back the rash on the inside of my foot stayed for about another 8 weeks before disappearing (the picture). Then a couple of weeks later I got another similar rash on the outside of my foot which I have had for a month. Any idea what it is?

Avatar m tn Hi, There could be several causes of these white spots. It would be best to consult your doctor with your parents to find out the cause in your case and plan the further management accordingly. Some of the perceived causes are emotional stress, hereditary factors, worms, sunburns and physical illness. This skin condition can be aggravated due to diseases like hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, pernicious anemia and Addison's disease.
Avatar m tn HIV is very much an indoor virus, it cannot survive outside the human body, so touching somebody and afterwards my genitals, surfaces in environment carris zero risk of an infection is zero risk. Hiv needs to remain within a very specific environment to survive ( inside the body). The golden rule is never have unprotected vaginal or anal sex with anybody unless you are absolutely certain of their HIV status. Please remember this and you will never have any HIV worries in future.
Avatar m tn No risk but I would be more worried about a fungal infection.
