Common Questions and Answers about Human foot heel

foot

Avatar f tn Hey all! Hope everyone is doing well. For about 24 hours I've had extreme pain in the heel of my right foot. I haven't really done anything different in my daily routine (no long walking/standing). I was making my way to my bedroom so I could get some sleep and I noticed the pain last night. It's been killing me, especially when I put pressure on it. My question is could this be MS related? Or is it something I shouldn't worry about (unless it continues).
Avatar m tn Many months ago I started have problems with my right leg. I had a really bad itch almost like bud bites on my outer right shin near my ankle. I would itch these and then after two weeks it all went away. I thought it might be a bird might problem, but no longer got these itchy bite bumps (looked similar to flea bites, but they were not flea bites). After a while I started to get a really bad callus on the ball of my right foot under just the middle toe.
Avatar m tn Its a bone spur or a bruise , the human foot contains more bones than the rest of the body so u can break one without knowing it cause there so small.
Avatar m tn Can heel spurs cause the top of the foot to burn? I have heel spurs behind and below my heel and wear orthotics. The pain pops up occasionally but doesn't bother me too much. The weird problem is the burning pain on the top of my foot. The feeling feels like a torch is cutting through my foot. The feeling usually lasts about three seconds and disappears. Then pops up again when I move my foot. I cannot cause the feeling, or connect it directly to my foot.
18870592 tn?1469110523 Also had bruising on the bottom of the arch of my foot, back towards the heel, and the bottom of my heel. Other bruising was above the right side of my ankle about 2 inches above it. The last of the bruising is around the front of my foot behind my toes. Since the week and a half most of the swelling has went down. What swelling is left is the heel and around the right side and below my ankle (on right foot), feels numb to the touch and extremely inflamed.
Avatar f tn You might need custom orthodics made for your shoes along with calf steartching and intense foot massage. try standing on a golf ball, move around under your foot to release foot muscles. Hurts at first, feels better after.
Avatar n tn 7 mONTHS AGO I went to a podiatrist for tingling and pain in the bootm of left foot. He gave me Orthetics to wear, and exercises to do after Xray showed that I had a very inflamed tendon on bottom of foot. I also have very high arches. Now, I have began to feel some pulling and pain on right foot. Could this be from wearing the orthetics. In March he said I may need to have the presciption orthectics. I may have pulled something in the bottom of my foot.
454422 tn?1211415825 Hello all, I have had a painful heel spur on right foot for several months, tried heel cups, inserts, new shoes, napoxsyn, stretching and all have failed. I had several injections today and my heel was numb for several hours after, I am now having the most difficult time walking and the pain is more severe than it has been. I had this problem on left foot several years ago and ended up having fasciotomy (sp?) and have been pain free since. Any advice or suggestions on this newest heel spur.
Avatar f tn I wonder if any one can help. I got out of my car and went over on the side of my foot and since then i have not been able to put my heel down on the ground, if i do a get a sharp pain all the way up my leg. I have had problems before when i was younger, i have too many bones / movement in my foot so that doesn t help plus used to be a dancer and week acheiles tendon excuse the spelling Can anyone advise me on what to do? Another problem is i am on my feet most of the day with my job.
Avatar n tn My wife noticed the bone structure where my foot and ankle meet is larger than my left foot. Podiatrist feels ankle pain is attributed to compensation from the pain of the Plantar Fasciitis. I wear prescribed orthotics. The pain in the ankle area is horrendous when I'm working. With burning and sharp pain waves. I've tried forcibly walking with my foot straight, and my foot and leg feel as though I'm trying walk pigeon toed and the pain increases.
Avatar f tn hi i fell hard on my heel last night pain is quite severe when i put pressure on it(walking on my tip toes) i don't think theres any break but should i have a doctor look at it?
Avatar f tn It is also not on the bottom of my heel(or the sole of the foot) but on the outer back part. What else could it possibly be?
Avatar n tn The pain is on the bottom of my foot at the heel just near the arch in the daytime and at night at the back of the heel when I am laying on my back. I bought some walking shoes for plantars fasciitis and they have running shoes at orthofeet.com. You need to stretch your achilles tendon basically too. It could potentially be a heel spur but they have to Xray it to confirm that. hope this helps. Also, putting gel heels from Dr. scholes (spelling?
Avatar f tn The past month I've been experiencing minor to extreme heel pain in my feet. I was wondering if anyone has a good shoe insert they use for their heels? Preferably one that can be reused in different shoes. I've tried a few different brands, but no luck. My doc @ my last appt said it's because you walk differently when you're pregnant, but that seems like an easy/lazy answer to me lol! I'm only 19 weeks, I can't imagine what it'll be like when I'm further along!
Avatar n tn There is slight bruising on the outside / right side of my right foot. No bruising on the back of the heel, the bottom, or the left. There was very little bruising around the ankle, but there is none now. The only bruising is slight and is a quarter inch down from the ankle. The bruising has lessened as well already. However, it still hurts a lot to put my full weight on it. It doesn't hurt much when I walk gingerly on it.
Avatar n tn Last night I didnt sleep hardly at all because of the pulsating pain in the heel of my foot. I noticed when iceing my heel it was very hot. When I woke up this morning the pain is almost gone but I cant walk on my foot, when I put pressure on it the pain returns pretty severe on the outter side and center of my heel.
Avatar f tn I would suggest getting the foot examined by a primary care physician or an orthopedician for secondary issues like fasciitis, stress fractures, spurs, heel pad syndrome etc. before deciding on a management plan. Meanwhile you may try resting the foot and avoiding heels for relief. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have plantar fasciitis and it came on all of a sudden in pretty much the same area you described, left side of heel of right foot. It is now on my left heel, in right side of heel. Have you been on your feet more recently? Increased your exercise? Mine came on after increasing exercise. Currently, I am stretching it at least once per day, doing some strengthening exercises 2-3 times per week. I also apply ice 1 time per day for about 15 minutes when I need to.
Avatar n tn About 5 days ago I got out of bed and there was a bit of pain in the heel of my left foot, but I ignored it and thought it was just a general pain. About 2 days later, I got a burning, sharp pain on the tip of the second toe on my left foot, but I looked at it and didn't see any visible difference.
Avatar n tn After sitting or lying down, even driving a car for a period of time, my feel get extremely painful, especially in the area between the ball of the foot and the heel. the heel never gets sore. It takes up to 2 hours of walking about before the pain subsides, but it returns as soon as I sit again. The pain almist feels as if someone has taken a knife and shredded the bottom of my feet. It is the same in both feet.
3804392 tn?1404419858 I went to the doctor for it and was advised to stretch my calves a good deal and then take my foot/heel and press it against say the edge of a step (or something like that). It is a bit sore to do but I did recover doing these two things. They also make wraps for this now which I haven't tried but have seen advertised.
Avatar f tn The pain I am having is not in the heel of my foot. It is in the ball of my foot. It started on the left. I have been struggling for 7 months. I have symptoms of aching, sharp pains (like a nail in my shoe) and nerve like pulses (a zippy feeling upon each step). I have been at home resting for the past two weeks as I am also 4 1/2 months pregnant. Now all of a sudden the right foot is experiencing the same symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have had posterior heel pain and edema for over 2 yrs. I finally decided to see podiatrist due to inability to walk without limping and pain that occurred with every step and it got to the point of shooting pain up my heel and leg even at rest. (I am unable to wear shoes that have a back without pain and it hurts to walk barefooted) I am also unable to stand on my tip toes on affected foot. I had an x-ray that showed a large posterior heel spur with bursitis.
Avatar n tn Plantar fasciitis, arthritis of small joints, diabetic neuropathy, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, over weight, deep vein thrombosis, wrong foot wear, gout, etc are a few causes of sore feet with heel pain. A high ESR by itself is not diagnostic. You need other tests too. Please consult a rheumatologist and an orthopedic specialist. Take care!
Avatar f tn It only hurts when I press on that part of my foot or when I am walking. The walking pain happens when I lift up my heel taking a step. The pain radiates from the top of the arch of my foot to the heel. The pain was minimal at the beginning of the day, then got worse as the day went on. I taped my foot after a few days of this and am using a walker and crutches I already had to keep weight off of it as much as possible.
Avatar f tn I did get insoles yesterday that support my arch and heel but they tested my foot to see if it is not aligned properly and they said that my walk was good. The insoles aren't really helping and I think they are aggravating the problem more. Thank you again for all your advice.
Avatar n tn centrered under my heel to the middle of my foot... I also have early stages of the process in my other foot as well.. A few years ago I went to the GP re this, and he sent me to a Physician who shrugs his shoulders and thought I was imagining it,, or at least gave me that impresssion. I have not being back to Drs to investigate this further... Are u able to give me an indication of what is happening here, and if I should bother to seek further Medical advise...
1558461 tn?1295392601 Can cronic Arthritis in a big toe, cause the metatarsal and heel pain to worsen?
Avatar m tn Yep, mine does both - the heel of my foot or the sole of my foot will scuff across the ground. That's a good explanation for it Bob.
