Avatar n tn Also when you are standing keep changing the position, lift your foot off the ground for sometime and let your foot bear the body weight alternatively. If possible keep a small stool nearby on which you can rest your foot from time to time. Plantar fasciitis, arthritis of small joints, diabetic neuropathy, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, over weight, deep vein thrombosis, wrong foot wear, gout, etc are a few causes of sore feet with heel pain. A high ESR by itself is not diagnostic.
Avatar f tn I twisted mine before by missing a step, and the hospital put on a cast and this relieved the pressure on my foot and made it feel a lot better. Mine was just a sprain.

Avatar f tn t see anything but maybe a stick and a tiny piece of glass. Went home and before I went to bed banged that same foot on my daughters stool. Now there is a bruise on the bottom of the same foot and it hurts to walk. What are the chances I got poked by a needle? What are my risks?

Avatar f tn It can be alleviated with the proper orthotics (usually a very stiff insert for the sole of the affected foot and a wide toe box). Sometimes, surgery is necessary. The pressure on the top of the foot is extremely common in this problem, and it usually winds up forming a "bump". However, there is none of the second toe deformity seen with bunions. An X-ray is necessary for diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Just noticed this bump on the bottom of my foot. Wart? Corn? Something else? I have Duofilm wart remover.
147426 tn?1317265632 However, during the act of walking the spasticity of the calf will activate and pull the foot downward, even though the person is trying to raise the foot to clear the ground during the stride forward. So, they trip anyway. This is called a "functional" foot-drop. I have this second probem. When I am sitting I can easily bend my ankle up to bring up my foot. But when I walk the toe drags the ground.
Avatar n tn I broke my tibia and fibula on oct 10th/2010, and had surgery, and plates and screws put in on both bones. It is now january 6th/2011. Im still not walking, or putting any pressure on it, and the doctor said that it is healing very slowly.. when i take off my boot brace, my foot is very crooked when it is flat on the ground. the doctor doesnt seem to know what is wrong. he said that the ex-ray looks straight, and everything looks good. it looks like my foot is just flopping over to the side..
Avatar m tn Where the talus meets the bones of the foot, it forms the subtalar joint, which is important for walking on uneven ground. The talus is an important connector between the foot and the leg and body, helping to transfer weight and pressure forces across the ankle joint. Refer http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00170 Your surgeon must have decided bearing these facts in mind. Hope this is useful.
1413587 tn?1289659823 Treatment The treatment for both types of foot-drop is a brace called an AFO - Ankle Foot Orthotic - which holds the foot in the same position as if you were just standing on the ground. the foot is at right angles to the lower leg. Another part of the treatment is to frequently stretch the Achilles' tendon so that it does not shorten permanently either from the persistent droop of the foot or from the pull of spasticity.
Avatar f tn I am not able to pull your foot towards my body. when walking and you pick your foot up off ground it just dangles. Also If i'm sitting i cant pull my foot towards myself and when i try it hurts and doesn't move the only way i can is if i use my hand and pull it and it doesn't hurt.I cant even walk on my heal or raise it off ground. Is that normal or should I see a doctor?
Avatar m tn Altho i find it strange that i can feel my pulse in both ankles -right foot left side soft spot. Opposite left foot. I read that if you can feel the pulse in the ankles leg arteries not clogged. Feel on both sides of neck too somewhere under the ear. A little hard to find, but doable. I have heard fish oil too, but i think the best are the ones i listed above, plus i am recently taking acv....apple cider vinegar one tb two times a day mixed in warm not hot water and honey or stevia.
Avatar m tn As i landed a sharp pain shot up through my left leg from the left side of my shin upwards. It took me around 5 mins to be able to even lift my foot from the ground it felt bolted to the floor. Since then I can barely walk, have the most excrusiating pains and also have a lump that feels soft like its full of liquid. I am sat down currently and my whole leg is throbbing and sending shooting pains up through my whole leg, my shin is super sore even to touch.
302930 tn?1326813048 I didn't know where else to post this question but hopefully someone can either help me out or relate to this. I walk to work everyday when I can. It's a good 10-15 minute walk if I walk fast enough which I usually do. A while back, about midway to work, my left leg would start to "give out." I didn't think too much of it, to me, it just felt like my leg was getting tired. Then I went on vacation recently which required a LOT of walking. (Like 12 hour days.
Avatar m tn Long story short while trying to stop a fight I was slammed to the ground by a person and busted the back of my head on the concrete where there was broken glass and a very dirty surface. I ended up in the ER with 10 staples to the back of my head. After falling to the ground I immediately grabbed the back of my head where I had a good 3-4 inch gash and applied direct pressure to stop the bleeding. I definitely had blood on my hands from another individual that was involved in the fight.
2112931 tn?1335098402 I just twisted that ankle and fell on the ground outside. This foot keeps tripping on flat floors as well.
459853 tn?1283140514 It started after mowing the lawn and twisting my foot and almost falling over, mower and all, when my foot tell into a rut in the grass. The next day it was quite painful, enough to wake me from a dead sleep. When at rest it feels like I'm stepping on a small metal ball dead center in the middle of my heel. There is also some pain on the inside of my foot between the ankle and Achilles tendon.
Avatar f tn Both caregiver222 and jemma116 have provided accurate information. The two sciatic nerves are the largest nerves in the human body. They are formed on each side from elements of the lumbar nerve roots, and runs beneath the piriformis region in the pelvis, exiting the pelvis at the greater sciatic foramen, where it runs down the back of the thigh to an area just above the knee. Here it divides into the tibial and fibular nerves.
Avatar n tn Hey guys, last year i took my cousins flips flops because i have a foot fetish, and used them to become sexually aroused, little did i know that flip flops carry all sorts of germs and stuff like that, (I read it in a news article).
Avatar m tn Also when you are standing keep changing the position, lift your foot off the ground for sometime and let your foot bear the body weight alternatively. If possible keep a small stool nearby on which you can rest your foot from time to time. There are various other things you can try such as especially designed insoles, night splints and wraps. Besides this there are various massage therapies, stretch exercises, and pressure point stimulation by trained specialists.
Avatar f tn however, the foot brushes that they used to scrub the feet are simply cleaned with soap and warm water between customers. The next day I realized I had an abrasion on my foot. Is it possible if there was previous blood on the brush that it could have infected me this way? Or does the virus die from the soap and water between uses. I am a bit worried.
1322157 tn?1279656681 but I find myself tripping (right foot only - I never trip with my left foot) and catching the top of the sandal on the ground numerous times a day. I have a feeling that I would be doing the same thing even if I wore my sneakers... If anyone here has foot drop, how did you begin to notice the problem? Did you just begin to notice that you were not lifting your foot off the ground as much as the other?
Avatar f tn Last week, my foot caught on a crack in the ground and turned over. I had a slight pain after, but it didn't hurt to walk on or anything. But over the past week, every so often if I step on my foot a certain way, I get a slight pain in the area where my toes start, almost like a joint needs to be popped pain. I may feel it if I run or try to do jumping jacks. The area feels like it needs to be cracked a lot and when I do, it temporarily relieves the feeling and then it comes back.
