Avatar m tn At the age of 75 how long will it take to regenerate the cells of a broken bone in a foot?
Avatar f tn What foot diseases can I possibly have? My symptoms are peeling in the toes, a little only on the soles with no itch. The peeling is not in any shape (like crater form), it's just peeling. What could this be? Could it be pitted keratolysis? I've been researching about foot skin ailments and I've seen pictures actually but I don't think it's pitted keratolysis since the peeling isn't craterlike.
Avatar m tn He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.

Avatar n tn Verrucas are Warts that appear on the foot, that much I know. The scientific name for the virus is the Human Papilloma Virus which I think comes in about 60 varieties affecting the vaginal, oral and other areas and that it can take several months, since infection, for the verruca to develop, with no visible signs. She might well have an infection and not know about it; because it can take anything up to 20 months to develop.
Avatar m tn Water is SO important and the lack of it has been linked to many ailments. I just wanted to remind everyone to drink lots of water especially when in withdrawls but also when we are not. Here's a little exerpt that is pretty interesting. Water is a fundamental part of our lives. It is easy to forget how completely we depend on it. Human survival is dependent on water -- water has been ranked by experts as second only to oxygen as essential for life.

799959 tn?1239293294 If this happens again try taking garlic pills or eating foods with garlic in them. Garlic does indeed have scientifically-proven medicinal properties. It contains a substance called Allicin, which has anti-bacterial properties that are equivalent to a weak penicillin. It appears that cooked garlic weakens the anti-bacterial effects considerably, however, so don't count on cooked garlic with meals for much in the way of a curative.

Avatar m tn s the public toilet in an office; Normally, I wear shoes, but that day my foot injures--wound from my nail cuts my finger. The wound doesn't pass for a long time; just 1.30hr-2hr. So I walk and use the toilet with my foot in socks -- no shoes at all. The problem is I see many drops of water on the floor; I'm worried it may be the drop of blood, or water contained blood (of the two people who are hiv positive because they use the same toilet as I use.
Avatar n tn ve been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.) I had other tests with showed no nerve problems and no diabetes. It was only recently that I realized that these could be side effects from the 'prozole meds I've been taking. I just stopped taking everything but the Zantac.

Avatar n tn I had a horizontal mole on the bottom of my right foot, just below the middle toe. It was shaved off. I have recieved results that the mole is abnormal. My dr. did not describe what abnomal means. I am thinking the worst. Any thoughts? Plus I have to go have it cut out at a deeper level. Anyone know of a topical numbing cream I can use. The derm. plans to do this.
Avatar f tn A plantar wart (also verruca plantaris or verruca) is a wart caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) occurring on the sole or toes of the foot. Plantar warts are generally harmless and self-limiting, but should be treated to lessen symptoms (which may become painful)." Does that mean that anyone who has had a plantar wart has HPV and is contagious? Is this the same as genital HPV?

Avatar m tn Hello, It can be a plantar wart or a corn on the foot. Warts are tumours or growths of the skin caused by infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV).They are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. They can be transmitted. For small warts several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.

My balance and gate issues (human string puppet) have been very consistent, since that particular issue first started with my big band of 09.
