Avatar f tn Anyone suffer from kidney or gull stones in 3rd trimester what did u do to treat how bad was it did u still work?
1415060 tn?1281969800 I am pregnant, too, and I know how miserable it is to be in constant pain while pregnant. I want to encourage you to talk to your doctor or find any doctor who will treat you for the pain. Pain medication, when neccessary, is not as harmful for an unborn baby as many people think it is. In many cases it doesn't cause any adverse affects to the baby.
Avatar f tn Can anyone tell me how to prevent them!! They say kidney stones are calcium build up am I drinking to much milk? I've never had kidney stones till I got pregnant.
Avatar m tn I know if she gets this one out she will get another - Test have shown she has over 20 stones still in her kidney!! I work full time to support the 3 of us and she is going to school at University of Phoenix to try to get a life started for her and her son eventually. Thank goodness she only has to go to school one day a week. If anyone has any ideas of remedies (even though we have tried several) or some way to get help I would appreciate it.

Avatar f tn There appears to be A LOT of misinformation about Opiod Analgesics in Pregnancy, or no information at all. I wanted to post this link to a study that was done on the affects of Opiods/Opiates, Benzodiazepines, Anti-Depressants, and other Medications in Pregnancy. There are a high percentage of women who have to take medications during their pregnancy. All things being equal, most pregnant women would rather not have to take anything during the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn From what I've heard, I don't think a kidney stone can cause problems in a pregnancy. I've heard that the calcium in the prenatals doesn't help. Please try not to stress just make it clear to your doctors that something has to be done, no ifs ands or buts. Let me know how it goes!
Avatar f tn D, which we are also finding as a common thread amoung MSKer's. Vit in D in the right amounts helps the body to absorb calcium, in too high levels it can increase stones. So, the first thing I would recommend is a 24hour and test as I mentioned above, along with a test of your vit D levels. This enables you to prevent problems. 2.
Avatar f tn I take many medicines and have had to get off of 5 in preparation for this pregnancy (which to be honest I will find out within in days and I feel like I am!). One of the ones I was told to get off of was Hydrocodone. I have been taking this drug since 2004 and have gotten off of it only briefly before our two most recent miscarriages at 8 weeks. Our first daughter was stillborn at nearly 8 months of pregnancy. But she was before I learned of my disease.
Avatar f tn Another reason to be honest about it is that the OB needs to know what you take in order to treat you accurately. Some OBs want to take over your pain management for the duration of the pregnancy. Some will not, as in my case and I have to see a pain management specialist as well, which I did before I became pregnant. I will warn you that it's very hard to find someone who will treat a pregnant woman for pain issues.
786047 tn?1239236700 I'm going to try to sleep..my boyfriend went to bed awile ago because i've been glued to computer. He doesn't understand how hard it is for me to live a everyday life.I feel like it's a battle with no title behind it.I'm glad to have found this place and have faith this will help.I've discovered the toll it takes on your loved ones is hard on them also.
1535595 tn?1317993633 I also had a friend who had to be on Vicodin the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy because of kidney stones and her baby is fine too. So, all i can say is enjoy your pregnancy, talk to your doctor and make sure he or she knows what you are taking. DO NOT EVER QUIT COLD TURKEY and DO NOT LET PEOPLE SCARE YOU OR MAKE YOU FEEL BAD BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO TAKE MEDS. Don't abuse them....
Avatar f tn I am also 13 weeks pregnant so have been really scared to go into w/d as i have read how bad it is for the baby also my dr told me to taper NOT to go into w/d as it can even cause miscarriage i am so scared and ashamed of what i have let this become. What a mess. I feel horribale that i would do this to my own baby. I also have a 8 month old so i am pretty stressed out. Our baby is our LIVES.
Avatar f tn When I was pregnant with my son I started taking Tylenol #3 for migraines early in my pregnancy, but near the end I was having to take Norco, and later Percocet. I tapered before delivery and he was born without dependence issues as well. So far he's a very very healthy and normally developing 3-month-old. The truth about pain management during pregnancy is this...
Avatar n tn I resently got married and went to the doctor (New OB) to check my odds of pregnancy just in case we wanted to try. They did an ultrasound and sound that with all of my lining gone except one little spot that pregnancy was less then .05% change. So I did not think we could have a baby. Well now things are a little different. I have to stay in bed all day and just hope I do not loss my job.
Avatar n tn Dont give up yet it is known for some women to have pregnancy symptoms similar to period symptoms. Also my doctor said sometimes women spot during implanation. When do you go back for your pregnancy test? Did you have any symptoms from the day of IuI until now? I am on day 6 and I have no symptoms so I am worrying also.
1264863 tn?1391121793 when my OB found out, he was horrified and called the hospital to tell them in no uncertain terms to treat me if I ever returned and that he would vouch for me if they ever needed it. the key to treating pain during pregnancy is open communication with your doctor and honesty. Good luck with your test results, luv2bmomjen....I'm on pins and needles for you!
Avatar n tn I'm up to 10 to 15 a day now and take five just to get me moving in the morning. This is no way to live. How long and how hard are the with drawals from it? I don't want to live my life around this drug anymore. Just a word of encouragment some times is what I think I need and to know that I am not alone.
1530342 tn?1405020090 I'm sitting in the hospital, as I type this, waiting for pre-op transport to take me down to the O.R. to have my kidney stones removed, and the question on the tip of my tongue is the same as it always is... Who pays for all of this wondrous "FREE" healthcare? Nothing in the world is free. And someone above me mentioned something about the gov't providing not only free healthcare, but also free childcare. Seriously folks?
Avatar f tn Hopefully the microscopic blood has gone, fingers crossed for you! Let me know how you get on. I'm hoping for kidney stones to show up when I go to the urologist and that they wont have to go any further and do the cystoscopy! I really dont want this done but I have no choice now. I am going to make sure they check for any infection first and check that the blood is still present before they do the cystoscopy by the sounds of things its a last resort anyway when nothing else has shown up.
Avatar f tn The last thing I want to do is harm my baby, but I do not know how to deal with this pain and still go to work and take care of myself! It is so heartbreaking... Any past experiences would be GREATLY appreciated!! THANK YOU!
Avatar f tn But these are likely to happen after the onset of kidney disease, which lowers the ability of the immune system to fight such things. I need to check her blood values properly, so thanks for giving them to us. I'll check them out and get back to you when I can. In the meantime, I'm hoping others will reply with some practical advice about administering fluids. I know it's hard going, but it's also very necessary in giving your best friend a fighting chance.
162948 tn?1205256292 It does appear to be common to have pregnancy symptoms once it is removed, but I feel (in my case) that it may be due to my lining still too thin, and the pregnancy doesn't last long. Hopefully in another month or so, I'll get my positive sign. =) To all of you out there in "pregnancy limbo", it will happen when it happens, and it's best not to stress about it. Just pay attention to your body signs, and keep trying!
Avatar f tn I really need to know, i'm the only one that works here in my office (it's a company that has two venues) and I do 'everything' and there's NO replacement or stand in. I'm not even sure how my boss is going to handle this news, but HEY, it's my health and it comes first! Please advise ASAP! P.S. I really liked the idea of 'pre-making & freezing' meals, this way I don't have to rely on hubby for that. As for the 'constriction' after surger....
Avatar n tn An untreated UTI can lead to a kidney infection and can be quite serious. Cystex and other OTC meds only treat the symptoms, not the infection itself. You need an antibiotic for a UTI.
Avatar n tn My theory, and this is just a wild guess, is that a gland that works with or in the stomach is in close proximity to the spine in some folks, and when it goes to work the sound of it releasing acids (or doing whatever it is doing) actually travels up the spinal cord by conduction and your ears pick it up when the sound gets closer to your inner ear - ie, the neck region.
Avatar n tn I head to the hospital and it gets so bad I can't move at all. I am in a ball in the bed with my head to my knees and can't even lay back down the pain is so bad. Then when it gets to its worst, it suddenly stops. The relief of it finally rupturing is euphoric. Then I head home and pray it doesn't happen again. I asked my obgyn if i have to go to the ER when this happens. She said no. She said to just call her for pain meds and I can stay home and let the pain pass.
Avatar n tn '/ it worries me that I'm in this much pain during pregnancy. How do I really know that if I'm having a bad reaction that it will not hurt my child. The pain seems to be easing but if only it would enough so I.could sleep so it would get better. It tells u to take all 7 in order to clear infection. Are u kidding me?
Avatar f tn turned out to be kidney stones. but my baby came out fine, healthy, and full term, so it may be nothing...just go get it checked out. your doctor should show more care.
Avatar f tn I am a total disaster. My back is broken (literally), I have stage II hypertension and although it is controlled by medication the meds themselves don't agree with me very well. Right now my ankles hurt so badly most of the time I can barely make it down the stairs- I have yet to diagnose that. I have chronic gastritis as well as delayed gastric emptying due to the pain medications. Sometimes I have a pretty good outlook on life. Sometimes I have pity parties.
