Avatar m tn s the switch from tricyclen to dian35 birth control pill that caused hormonal acne or is it my papulopustular Rosacea, but limited on the chin only... I was also advised to start low doses of accutane to treat those chin cysts... I really don't know what to do...
Avatar n tn Hi to cure my acne and hair growth my dermatologist recommends to use a hormone pill (sponalactaid i think?) to reduce my high testoterone level. My mother had breast cancer because of hormone pills so I refuse to take it. Instead, I researched ways to lower testosterone "naturally" and came across an herbal supplement called Macafem which claims to affect the pituatry gland to make the hormones produced more "balanced" Anyone heard of this and is this true?
Avatar n tn Hi there, Sorry to hear about your acne. I know how heartbreaking it is to face in the mirror every day. The first step is to figure out what kind of acne you have. How old are you? What is your skin type? Oily? Dry? Sensitive? Is it flaky? Most acne sufferers have more sensitive skin than they think and they treat and treat and treat and rarely see any good results. Overwashing and scrubbing and medicating is the last thing the skin needs. The key is to getting the it balanced.
Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar n tn hormone related acne is very hard to clear, the best I can recommend is to use retinaldehyde, consistently, spot treat w/ something antibacterial during breakout, Tea tree oil, something antinflammatory,
Avatar m tn In my opinion i would wait it out because all the reviews ive read about hormonal acne and not cystic acne have said that it took at least 3 months to clear their skin completely.
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar f tn I had other side effects from birth control so I decided to get off of it and the acne returned. I tried everything OTC for acne. I even tried proactive and it did nothing for me. So then I realized it was related to my hormones. I found a natural treatment. It's an herb called vitex fruit. It can take a couple of your cycles to take affect. It works by balancing your hormones naturally with your pituitary gland. It had natural estrogen properties.
Avatar m tn This time she gave me low amount of vitamin e cream and sensitive cream for me to apply on my face. Few days later, I noticed there is a bigger pore due to the acne extraction. Also my left and right cheek became inflamed and flaky. Am I being cheated by them? Should I go back to ask for clarification? Or go to see dermatologist?
Avatar f tn Is there an effective way to treat acne for those with fibromyalgia? My dermatologists have tried quite the variety of treatments for the acne with no success. The acne isn't cystic, but a bit more problematic than mild acne. Also, a sulfa allergy limits that option for treatment. Current regimen includes Azelex (for redness and inflammation) and Tretinoin. I'm curious if there is an effective treatment that takes the fibromyalgia into consideration.

Avatar f tn I have suffered with acne since the 5th grade, if you used an oil and got rashes you need to see a doctor to get something to treat your reaction to the olive oil. Have you tried acne fighting products ? I recommend the Clean and Clear newest 3step acne cleanser. Or if OTC medication hasn't worked for you, visit a Dermatologist to see your options about medications and creams to help fight the out breaks and the boils.
Avatar n tn However, now im anxious when it comes to stopping the use of this treatment for fear my skin will go back to how it was initially, as i don't wish to keep returning to the doctor everytime the tube finishes. So, my question is if i stop using Duac will my skin remain clear or just go back to how it was?

Avatar f tn I have developed several side effects due to over masterbation like acne, sunken eyes, bony wrists, hair loss etc. How do I recover from the above stated problems.
Avatar n tn I'm an 18 yr old female, relatively healthy, and in about the beginning of may I decided to try to take Vitex to try to balance my hormones. I've had irregular periods since I hit puberty, my period can skip months and it's never ever regular. I've also suffered from mild hormonal acne. I was taking Vitex for a month as well as DIM for a little bit but it blew up my face and made everything worse than better.
Avatar f tn d probably need to customize one to your skin, but cliniques has some really good ones. Also, another great product to spot treat acne is tea tree oil. I lightly put this on my face about once every week or so. Don't be fooled by expensive products, in school we had to do extensive research on product ingredients and most of the expensive ones contain the same ingredients as products you can find in your local drug store under different ingredient terms. Ps. Yes benzoyl peroxide is safe.
Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar n tn t quite understand what exactly causes auto-immune diseases and why it affects women differently. There is no cure just the ability to treat symptoms. I have personally found that each Dr. has their opinion and theory. It's difficult to find definite answers when the syndrome itself is fully not known. As I was told at Mayo...Dr's are constantly researching to help understand it more and more!
Avatar m tn I have pictures I would like to send and I really would like to know what I should do to treat this for tonight... what should I put on it and should I keep it moist or dry or pack it with anything. Thanks!
