Common Questions and Answers about How to treat dandruff in eyebrows

dandruff

Avatar n tn I will appreciate if some one can help me to treat this problem. There is lot of white dandruff flakes on my eyebrows and scalp.
Avatar m tn If it's the outer third of the eyebrow, you should get your thyroid checked. If you have flaking and scaling, like you have dandruff in your eyebrows, then it's probably something fungal. If it's not super red and inflamed, you could try applying some hydrocortisone cream to it. If it helps, it probably is some sort of organism causing irritation and the hair loss, and something like ketoconazole cream or even lotramin would be the thing to do.
Avatar f tn I do have dandruff in my hair. I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis by my dermatologist at the age of 21. Not knowing any better when I was younger I tried everything over the counter for acne, but I didn't have acne. I definitely do not have rosacea because I never got pustules. I have tried: Metrogel Finacea Desonate Nizoral Shampoo on my face head and shoulders on my face and Desonide lotion. the only thing that works is desonide lotion.
Avatar m tn Any products I can use to restore growth? Also, in addition to the zinc shampoo I use (which has worked well and apparently is used for dermatitis anyway), can you recommend any other treatments? I've tried hydrocortizone cream in the past, but it has yielded no lasting results?
Avatar n tn My eyebrows keeps itching and so do my ears I wonder if this has to do anything with an Allergy. because my ears began to itch when i had a terrible migrain back in 2007. don't know what the heck it is. like dandruff is comeing out of my ears and eyebrows and I just simply just don't know what to do for it like do i go and see a doctor. for it or a thermotoligist. any answer on those two simple questions. step 2 i feel that my Psoriasis is still comeing on to my skin.
Avatar n tn You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.

1738109 tn?1331412572 Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes you to itch and have dandruff. I have spalp psoriasis so its only in my hair and sones times my eyebrows. It can be aggravated by stress. Another kind is called plaque psoriasis. This is red flaky patches all over the body. I have a friend with that one. She's miserable when she gets an outbreak. Oh and it's not contagious but it can be genetic for either kind.

Avatar m tn I also have some redness/flaking skin occurring around my nose, eyebrows and forehead. I have done some research and the symptoms of my scalp and face seem to be consistent with seborrhiec dermatitis. Any help with treatment possibilities would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Telogen effluvium sounds most likely as the diagnosis for your scalp. Sometimes we don;t know what triggers it, but whatever it was would have happened 3-4 months before you noticed the hair loss, not right before. Wisdom teeth pulling could do it. I don't know what to make of your eyebrow complaints, and I can't connect them to those of your scalp. Scaling of the eyebrows is usually seborrhea, a scaly rash that doesn't cause hair loss.
Avatar n tn Topical terbinafine solution (1%) has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of scalp seborrhoea,as may lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids or corticosteroids (such as fluocinolone acetonide). Pimecrolimus topical lotion is also sometimes prescribed. It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for his symptoms and a proper clinical examination if the symptoms persist. Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing. Regards.
Avatar n tn Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.
Avatar f tn I now have very severe dandruff, with scabs on my scalp, and my hair has begun to thin--my eyebrows are nearly as bad as my lashes. I don't know if any of this is related, but it has made me very self-conscious about it and everything I do does not help.
Avatar n tn Your symtoms could be coming from more than one cause, and thus might not make sense as a whole. You may have to aprroach things piece by piece. I don't how long in the past or how in depth the thyroid tests were, but unless they were in the last few months, it wouldn't hurt to have them repeated, and maybe done in more depth. How is your sleep? The only reason I mention that is some poeple with sleep disorders, particularly sleep apnea, seem to gain weight without obvious cause.
Avatar m tn Let me give you my full scope of odd things that have happened to me in the past two years. Two years ago my hair started thinning diffuse on the top. No big deal, a few months later i noticed a lot of dandruff. 6 months after that the sides of my scalp started to thin a little bit. Then my eyebrows started thinning the same way my hair did. Now i can visibly see hair falling out all over my scalp but the thing that worries me the most is the hair falling from my eyebrows.
Avatar m tn i havent had any fevers or wieght loss. or diahrea.

Avatar m tn I'd say I have a dandruff problem but that would imply that my itchy scalp is the only problem area. I get flaky skin on my arms, chest, eyebrows, and especially my legs. If someone so much as brushes against me it snows little white flakes everywhere. I've been to a dermatologist a couple of times but I've yet to find a medicated shampoo or moisturizer that even makes a dent.
Avatar n tn Apply it twice in a week at night and keep overnight. There are many anti dandruff shampoos in the market which you can use. Comb your hair well and massage your scalp well. If dandruff persists consult a skin specialist. Once this resolves the lymph nodes will disappear on their own. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn If neither of these work, consult a physician or dermatologist; he could have a skin condition and need to shave to be able to treat it adequately. Consult a professional if it continues.

Avatar m tn I never really go to a doctor for medication for that, but I do try some dandruff shampoo to reduce the dandruff. Some of them work, but after a while the dandruff will come back. It's really annoying but sometimes it's okay, no dandruff at all, but sometimes gets alot. I think season changes is one of the reasons. Maybe my scalp is really sensitive. I do wash my head almost everyday to keep it clean. Yea, I will keep changeing pillow case or anything will touch my scalp.
Avatar n tn I have always had horrible dandruff(psoriasis) only on my scalp so its hard to tell what is dandruff or if there really could be lice or some other kind of mites crawling up there. How do I tell the difference between scabies, lice, bedbugs, tiny white worms, and dandruff flakes?
Avatar f tn One doctor suggest to give me cortison injection in the muscle and in the eyebrows but im afraid ?? Does cortisone help in my case??
