Well my girlfriend just had a yeast infection. We thought I was ok because we hadn't had sex for a week or 2 before she realized she had it. Well past couple to few days my penis has been itchy, but thought nothing of it till today when I noticed a small discharge on the tip of my penis. I squeezed the shaft and more came out. It was somewhat clear but at one point it was pretty white. There's always a small discharge at the tip now. I'm assuming now I too have a yeast infection.
No chunky discharge (just my normal discharge that has never been anywhere near the chunky cottage cheese thats supposed to signify a yeast infection), no irritation, burning or pain. The only thing I can think she might have mistaken is that I was still slightly inflamed from Friday (my boyfriend came over and things were rather... vigorous for a prolonged period of time).
I havent begun treatment yet because Im not convinced that I have a yeast infection... Could my dr have been wrong?
I suggest you go to the doctor and confirm if it's a yeast infection or not. If you treat yourself for yeast infection and have a bacterial vaginosis instead, you will only make it worse.
Dont wait... i did that before it got worst. Go to the ER or L&D tell them you have a very bad yeast infection. They'll do a pap to make sure its just that and not a UTI give u meds... and send u on your way.
It is important that you go to the doctor, because a lot of times we think it is a yeast infection and treat it as such, but in the end, it was something else. And yes, as a virgin, you can still get several different infections - even STD's if you are "playing" around with a guy and you have skin to skin contact without penetration. So, at the end of the day, I think you should tell mom and then go to the dr. just to be safe.

My 11 YO child has been miserable, especially going to middle school without deodorant and trying to fight this fungal\yeast armpit infection. Two different doctors refused to write for her a Diflucan. Went to Urgent Care first and then her primary care doctor. This was last week and now my insurance has ran out as I was laid off. I have been trying to treat this as directed and even going to school to wash them and reapply the powders, but they seem worse when she gets home from school.
Is there any home remedies that are safe in pregnancy to get rid of a yeast infection? I have already had it twice ans took that one day pill form of it. Just found out its listed as category c so that kind of annoyed me how my dr just acted like it was completely safe. I also really dont want to shoot medicine up there because it just sounds really difficult... any suggestions??
Okay so I'm starting to get a yeast infection, i can tell by a little bit of the odor (fishy smell) it isnt strong yet. you can only tell if you get close to that area.. im scared to tell my mother and even go to a doctor for it because i dont want ANYONE to look in that area or ill feel extremely dirty so. It would be a good idea to see your doctor about your groin and back problem to find out if these are due to a urinary infection or from some form of arthritis. Your doctor may send you for xrays to see if there is joint degeneration or take a blood test to see if you have an autoimmune disorder like Rheumatoid Arthritis.

hi i used to have this yeast infection, probably 2x a yr. i used monistat (with prescription)and it takes a while to cure it,for me about 4-5 days. but i have to wear loose pants for the meantime, because if you wear tight pants, it doesnt not get better,it help. i know not much help, but i hope you feel better.sometimes it really takes time to cure it.
Boric acid doesn't even sound safe to take internally or externally. Boric Acid is a toxin used to kill rodents. I have heard of one home remedy for boric acid, and that is for ear aches...and that doesn't even sound safe to me. Only your OB can tell you what is safe to treat your yeast infection. I know Monistat is safe to use. Please don't ever try to self diagnose or treat yourself during pregnancy, it's not worth the consequences to your baby.
