I am so glad I ran across this forum. Has anyone found a cure for this horrible life changin cough yet? My story is just like all the stories I've read in this forum so there is no need me repeating what I am going through. This has been going on for 5 months. I can't take it anymore. I can't talk without coughing and am peeing all over myself. I have to wear diapers 24/7. I have not insurance and no job so I can't go to all the specialist that can help me.

It sure would be nice to stop coughing and stop hurting. I might ask my husband to try to do some percussion on me.......but he's so strong.........he doens't know his own strength, I'm afraid he would hurt me without intending to. I have fibromyalgia and I'm so sore.

You may not be able to feel them kicking because you're coughing. However lack of movement should be checked out by a doc! I say go to hospital - better to be reassured than worrying!

You may want to see an allergist and have some tests done to see if you are allergic to something that is causing this post nasal drip (PND) and then the cough ... so sorry to hear you are enduring this.

With no other symptom, it is either an irritant cough due to allergy to something or it is due to postnasal drip if you have sinusitis like problem. Other than that it could be due to a severe gastric reflux. Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. See if these tips help you. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.

Thank you! I went to the ER and they just gave me mucinex and tessalon which I already had and has done nothing! I've been drinking tea and honey like crazy! Only thing that does help is a hot shower but as soon as I get out, I start coughing again! I hate that it depends on the doctor because when the nurse was explaining the prescriptions he said if I wasn't pregnant, I could have got Tylenol with codeine, but last time I was pregnant I got Tylenol 3 for my back!

Longggg story short, the coughing apparently can be caused by reflux. We were asked to do a quick test with baking soda (to see if she had too much acid or not enough). She didn't have enough so it was recommended we give her a tsp of apple cider vinegar (weird, I know). She slept through the night for the 1st time in 2 wks. I was never sick and had been to the doctor about it after i while i was told to go to specialist.
