I am so glad I ran across this forum. Has anyone found a cure for this horrible life changin cough yet? My story is just like all the stories I've read in this forum so there is no need me repeating what I am going through. This has been going on for 5 months. I can't take it anymore. I can't talk without coughing and am peeing all over myself. I have to wear diapers 24/7. I have not insurance and no job so I can't go to all the specialist that can help me.

I have been dealing with this for over ten years now. Don"t know what happened it just appeared out of the blue. After countless trial and errors here are some of the things that helped me and hopefully someone else. I have silent reflux, most will balk because they associate reflux with heartburn. There is no heartburn. Taking a strong reflux med like dexilant helped and people were not reacting as much.
With no other symptom, it is either an irritant cough due to allergy to something or it is due to postnasal drip if you have sinusitis like problem. Other than that it could be due to a severe gastric reflux. Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. See if these tips help you.

Thank you! I went to the ER and they just gave me mucinex and tessalon which I already had and has done nothing! I've been drinking tea and honey like crazy! Only thing that does help is a hot shower but as soon as I get out, I start coughing again! I hate that it depends on the doctor because when the nurse was explaining the prescriptions he said if I wasn't pregnant, I could have got Tylenol with codeine, but last time I was pregnant I got Tylenol 3 for my back!
