how to stop coughing at home

My 2 year old kid has been coughing most days at night? Anyone know what it could be? Anyone know how to get in touch with a pediatrician over the phone or web? Would not mind getting an opinion from home as my next appointment is not for a month.

I am so glad I ran across this forum. Has anyone found a cure for this horrible life changin cough yet? My story is just like all the stories I've read in this forum so there is no need me repeating what I am going through. This has been going on for 5 months. I can't take it anymore. I can't talk without coughing and am peeing all over myself. I have to wear diapers 24/7. I have not insurance and no job so I can't go to all the specialist that can help me.

I been on steroids , antibiotics, name it. Is there anyone who knows of a home remedy I can try to stop coughing and help me with my acid reflux.. Its been over four months am coughing non stop..

Thank you! I went to the ER and they just gave me mucinex and tessalon which I already had and has done nothing! I've been drinking tea and honey like crazy! Only thing that does help is a hot shower but as soon as I get out, I start coughing again! I hate that it depends on the doctor because when the nurse was explaining the prescriptions he said if I wasn't pregnant, I could have got Tylenol with codeine, but last time I was pregnant I got Tylenol 3 for my back!

Anyways, does anybody have some exercises or suggestions on how to lose weight at home. I also currently have a broken wrist, so nothing that will affect that. Also, I am not gonna go to any type of gym or anything and I don't really wanna do anything around the neighborhood because there are bad people around. So, only exercises I can do at home.

thanks for the info... unfortunately, The town i live in is a really OLD town. There are a lot of Amish & mennonite people around here. Horse & buggy, home schooling... the whole bit. The houses are giant victorian types... seriously, it's like a time warp. My daughter does go to the public school & she desperately wants to play with the neighbor girls. Everyone is nice, but sometimes I feel like they are looking at us like we could burst into flames at any minute.

I will get runs of PVC's that last a couple of hours. Just a few week ago, I was in town shopping, and they just kept coming (I know they were from the stuffed bell pepper I had eaten right before). After an hour, I headed home, was visibly upset when I got there because they make me feel so darn bad, and I asked my husband to get me ice and my daughter to get me ice water.

my 5 year old daughter lies down at night, she cannot stop coughing.. she naps in the same bed that day, no cough, but as soon as night comes, and bed time, she coughs all night long.. we have had no sleep in three months.. the drs say it is nothing -- allergies, or a sinus infection, and put us on zurteck and a z-pac.. but it has done nothing.. she has a severe history of upper respitory infections .. from 2 on, 2-3 almost died.. from it..we are at a loss! .. HELP!!!!!!

Im having to use my enhaler more then 4 times a day to breathe. Of course I need to stop smoking and it has really curtailed me from doing so because I do like breathing. Will ask for patches tomorrow. Anesthieologist was great about asking about my liver and made adjustments accordingly. I know part of it is due to being put under. had IV antibiotics before leaving hosp.

I am happy to hear the pain is being managed with meds....I was well under control pain wise when I was sent home , but it was day 5...I was in ICU for 2.5 days..... Listen to ur body....and go slowly...no bending, even to pick up a tissue, and no lifting, and last move ur neck.....slowly, but move it.

Other than that it could be due to a severe gastric reflux. Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. See if these tips help you. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.

I have been addicted to hydrocodone, narco, Percocet, oxyicodine, and soma for approximately 17 years. It has grown over the past years from 6 a day to 30 a day. You may want to see an allergist and have some tests done to see if you are allergic to something that is causing this post nasal drip (PND) and then the cough ... so sorry to hear you are enduring this.

The hardest part for me is trying to get to sleep at night. The backaches are bad to, I dont want to eat and all I find myself doing is sitting by my phone waiting for a call from someone saying they have some. This is not the life I want to live, I want my old life back PILL FREE!!! My question is how can I get over this alone at home and how long will it take me? you will have a very hard time doing it ( detoxing yourself at home)....it all comes down to how much self control you have...Me personally the withdrawals were so bad and I felt so sick that I would end up caving in everytime...and, I had to go to work which made it worse....I am getting ready to come off of methadone after being on it for 7 years and I took a voluntary lay off from work just to do this....I truly am "ready 2 B free" good luck to you...
