I am due to take a blood test on monday for a life insurance policy. I told them i stopped smoking a month and a half ago but have not done so i plan on stopping tomorrow will the nicotine be 100% out of my system by than?

I just found out today that they do test for nicotine my mom has to have a liver transplant and they told her she had to quit smoking and they could test her blood for it so she couldnt cheat that is crazy i would have never thought they could do that.

During the exam, I reported no to using these substances, and alcohol, nicotine, and marijuana are all legal in my country. My other alternative, if I refuse, would be to self-refer to mental health which typically takes months. I’m just wondering if an outpatient/emergency doctor can really refuse treatment to me if I refuse a urine analysis.

It isn't clear exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but faking a blood test for any reason is a very bad idea. Her doctor could discharge her from his practice. She could lose her pain management doc and any pain meds she is taking, and might have difficulty finding a new doc. The best policy is to be honest with the doctor.

These are withdrawal symptoms from the nicotine, and if you can handle it they will pass. If it becomes too much, talk to your doctor about something to help with the anxiety until you are over this. Medication is much safer than the cigarettes!! I have a 40 year old nephew dying from lung cancer caused by smoking up to two packs a day, and will be leaving 4 children without a father. Only 3% of people age 40 and under develop lung cancer this young, and he thought it would never happen to him.

I'm not a smoker either, but thank you very much for this idea! My husband has smoked for about 30 years and has wanted to quit. He knows that every puff is shortening his life and tarring up his lungs, but because he's done it for so long, it's really tough for him to quit. Maybe this would be a good substitute to start him on his quitting journey (and at least get that nasty smell from the smoke and tar out of here! lol) So thanks again!!

Hello to all.I was a high nicotine user for 4 years(smoking nd other forms).Then 4 months back,I got panic attack(1st of my life),felt like i was dying.And felt very very bad,breathing prob etc. Doctor said its bronchitis,DAT DAY I QUIT SMOKING COLD TURKEY,(NO NICOTINE SINCE THEN TILL DATE).Doc gave meds,and within 15 days,bronchitis was over.But then i went thru nicotine withrawal.Heart palpitations,strange tingling sensations,fatigue etc.

I have never read of anyone who was able to stop them, some chewing or using for over a decade! In addition to their new addiction there is always a health risk. I used the losenges for a short time and after a scheduled visit to my dentist who informed me that the inside of my mouth was ulcerated, I was told to stop immediately. I have heard many stories like mine and some worse.

Then on Saturday and Sunday I will Take one a day. My PM Doc appointment is Monday. Will I test positive on a drug test Monday.

I was treated at a specialist clinic and did not wish to pay the large fee for a test ! I will be seeing my local GP in 3-4 days and will have a urine test there.
