20927283 tn?1678738881 Hi there. I'm sorry I dropped the ball and didn't respond back. How are you doing? Working on emotional stuff like an eating disorder can take a while before therapy really starts to help. I also know it's hard to implement what they tell you. Have you considered medication at all? Hope you are doing alright and come back or an update.

637356 tn?1301924822 Instead, when I crave something, especially chocolate....I go for it with a good plan in place. I go to a small quick stop type of store. I purchase a very small piece of very good chocolate (love dark chocolate like Ghiridelli's). I enjoy that little bit....every single morsel. And then it is out of my system because I was able to thoroughly enjoy the bit of chocolate that I did have, yet it was no where near enough to through my entire eating plan out of whack.

Avatar f tn Im really confused, because I know that in order to lose weight I have to know my daily calorie intake. But I also know that my body is still growing! The daily calorie intake this app is telling me to eat everyday in order to lose one kilogram per week is roughly 900 or so calories! I am also going to be working out. What should I do? Is this healthy for a 15 year old girl? If not, how else am I supposed to lose weight?

502065 tn?1329187519 It is important for you to get it evaluated soon by a sleep doctor and a neurologist as you say to get into school/college in couple of months. Do yoga and meditation to overcome stress. A change in place can be some help. Try to follow a healthy sleep habit and keep physically active. Avatar m tn Looking for insight on my girl friends malnutrition. she has a history with anorexia but has managed it herself over the years. We've been together 3 years now I've seen her success with routine eating but hardly cosistent. She cycles to work, works 3-4 jobs and manages to find time to workout or swim 1-2 times a day plus consumin considerable amounts of water and eating light meals here and there. I believe these habits contribute to her insecurity of gaining weight.
Avatar n tn While I fully support the idea that people find a nutritional approach that works for them, apply it exactly as it is outlined by the author of that program, and then implement it for the rest of their lives, I cannot help but urge people to beware of the Eat To Live diet plan because it certainly doesn’t seem to have your health in mind. After reading through this diet book, the only conclusion I can draw is that Dr.
Avatar n tn Aside indulging in moderate amounts of physical exercise it is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan. It is important to know that a diet plan is not about cutting down calories; it’s about ‘healthy’ eating. With cutting on diet one may initially lose weight but this may remain static or increase later.
Avatar f tn d be much better off to implement a healthy eating and exercise program that will allow you to lose 1-2 pounds/week. Not the fastest way to lose weight, but most certainly, the healthiest.
6623270 tn?1384807517 My question is - how can I stop yo-yoing and stay healthy with a healthy eating and exercise once and for all? I am of course disappointed in myself for putting on this 20 pounds AGAIN.
Avatar n tn I have a student who needs a medical plan for siezure/eating disorder/ocd. What are my options for the school to make accomadations for his issues.
Avatar f tn As someone who has struggled with weight most of my life, I really think the key is to exercise (as well as eat healthy, of course). About 10 years ago I just decided enough was enough-I was sick of being overweight. I taught myself how to cook differently, stopped eating out frequently, limited alcohol, got real with myself that there are certain foods I just can't have in my house anymore, and joined a gym. Those are all things that have worked for me and have become habits.
Avatar n tn We don't really do diet plans, but you can do that via the Diet Diary app... it will help you figure out the number of calories you need/day, plus the amount of protein, carbs, fat, etc... Focus on lean protein, healthful fats, veggies...
1088509 tn?1352236247 Yes, I have heard of it -- I can't tell you for sure whether or not it's safe, but I will say that YES, you are most likely to regain any weight you lose as soon as you stop, since that is not a diet that you will maintain for the rest of your life. You would do much better to implement small changes and lose the weight slowly and safely in order to be able to maintain the loss.
Avatar f tn I would also suggest that you write down everything you eat each day and determine how many calories your eating daily. It also helps to plan your meals ahead of time so that you know before hand how many calories your going to eat that day. You dont have to eat much of some foods to keep from losing weight. You can purchase the calorie counter book in a paper back at most any book store... Id also suggest that you try eating 1,500to 1,600 calories daily.
2020005 tn?1628125976 In order to lose weight, you will need to create a deficit of 500 calories/day in order to lose 1 pound/week (1 pound = 3500 calories, which is 500 calories X 7 days). You can either decrease calorie count by 500 or decrease calorie count by 250 and use up 250 calories through exercise to create your deficit. Avatar n tn Medications are not the best way to lose weight. The best thing to do is to implement a diet that incorporates fresh vegetables, fruits, lean protein and healthy fats. If you're able to do, exercise it also very important. A daily walk around the block is a good start for exercise.
Avatar f tn Normally in your age it's really difficult to stay focus and how to avoid food temptations. According to the experts, these are the four leading causes of diet dropout: 1. Choosing the Wrong Diet Diet Success Tip: Diets that work are diets that last. Don't think of your eating plan as a "diet" you can go on and off of.
