how to ease contractions at home

I am having Braxton hicks contractions every 5 minutes and the on call doctor told me to come in last weekend so they gave me a shot and sent me home. I am 33weeks and I am not dilating at all. I just do not know what to do because I have been drinking a lot of water and the on call doctors are getting tired of me calling. Do you all have any suggestions? I have been having these for many weeks now.

was sent home because I was only 1cm dilated. All day today I been having strong contractions. To the point where I can't sleep. Could this mean that I'm about to hit active labor ?

This will be my 3rd baby and would love to stay at home as long as possible they say Showers or baths will definitely help with back pain and taking the edge off the contractions a excerise ball will help with bringing baby down in the pelvis and ur favorite music to help u relax. Just make sure when they become very regular and close 3-4mins apart u get urself to the hospital u dont wanna be having ur baby on the way to the hospital.

Try a warm shower and have your partner rub your back. I heard sometime the warm shower helps block the pain.

Any tips on how to labor as long as possible at home?? I want to give birth with no interventions and I know that's a great way to start off the process!

I lost my plug at 35wks, was 3cm dilated, 80% effaced, having contractions 4-5min apart and still had to be induced at 41wks.

Saturday October 20th I started having small contractions, weren't that bad so I just kinda ignored them went on with my day. Contractions continued on till Sunday the 21st and kept getting worse so I went in to l&d in the afternoon, my contractions were 5/7 minutes apart and I was dilated to a 3, monitored me for n hour but no progress so I was sent home. Went back again around 9pm because my contractions were even worst and I just couldn't handle it, same thing though.

( please can someone tell me how to get them to stop or if one of you ladies have had contractions this early and still made it to their due date or close to it.

t dilated anymore the midwife gave me some painkillers and sent me home I took 2 and the pain seemed to ease then again today I been getting bad contractions like pain and in my back and hips now I also had quite a bit of show this morning...

I already got steroids shots for babies lungs last week when I went into labor and delivery for my contractions that were 7 mins apart. Also the oil is recommended to start from 34weeks and on. It's to help soften the cervix not give contractions. So it should help just ease the labor not pop baby out like ASAP. I did my research and since I'm 34 weeks and from last week being 30% and 1.5 I wanna help the cervix along to soften and ripen more.

If they're not unbearable then it's probably too soon to go in. I was told to come in if my contractions were 3-5 minutes apart or I couldn't walk/talk/breath through them. Have you tried taking a bath or shower at all? The hot water can help the pain a little bit. Most women have to find their own comfort zone and what works best for them. Sometimes being on all fours helps, counter pressure, lying on your side, walking, etc all might help.

I was told if my contractions were consistent for an hour at 10 mins apart to go to the hospital. Mine were consistent for an hour at 4 mins apart so I came to the hospital. They have me hooked up to a machine to time my contractions and my baby's heart. I'm still having contractions, but I'm not convinced I'm in labor yet. I wish it were more obvious when labor started. Lol. For my first child my water broke, he was easy. This one is a guessing game. I'm 37.

Which for ftm can last quite some time and even of u are in labor but only dilated to 1-2 than they may just send u home or give u the option to labor at home where u r more comfy. I would wait until the contractions are a Lil closer the less time u spend laboring at the hospital the better.

Totally understandable :-) the worst they can do is send you home but it'll put your mind at ease.

The dr said i needed to keep my bladder completely empty in order for my contractions not to start again. 27-4 , theygave me some medicine to stop the contractions and an iv and now im back home. Im glad i am he needs to stay in as long as possible.

How close together do they have to be to go in?

The hospital will put you at ease and not brush you off but you seem so concerned and I am too of how you feel (emotional) I would go in :) congrats! !

Having contractions trying to tolerant them about 6-7 min apart took a shower to relax & there still strong due Feb25 Called Dr this morning to see if I should come in they advised me to drink water & see if they ease up but nope didn't work just tryna wait til I can't take nomore bcus I'M tried of being sent home..

Oh 1 warning tho, this sh*t doesnt smell all that great!
