How to cure dry cracked lips naturally

Common Questions and Answers about How to cure dry cracked lips naturally

Avatar n tn I have the same problem! Dry, cracked skin that I have to peel off of my upper eyelids. It comes in waves. It might be bad for a week and go away for a month, or vice versa. It seems to be worse when the weather is hot or dry, but sometimes that makes no difference. And sometimes it cracks so badly it bleeds, like chapped lips. I went to my doctor and he said that I had a "skin condition." I'd never wanted to beat someone so badly.
Avatar n tn Also, I talked with a herbologist (she is VERY knowledgable on how to heal things naturally) and she said to open up an acidophilus capsule and put the white powder right inside your mouth (when I had the thrush), and right on your vagina (when you have a yeast infection) because it puts the "good bacteria" right at the source, and heals things ALOT faster. Try works!!
Avatar n tn I recently have experienced the same symptoms of the weeping, yellow crust on lips. It started with cracked, chapped lips, and applied Blistex to help heal my lips. Only my lips did not heal. They started appearing swollen, with reddness on inner lips, yellow crust on tops of lips, no pain but about as uncomfortable as a badly chapped lip. On the 4th day I went to go see a doctor; he diagnosed me with a condtion called Impetigo which is a bacterial infection that is very contagious.
Avatar n tn I have been having problems with very dry lips 2 yrs now. I went to the dermatologist and she said i have to stop licking my lips because saliva is very acidic!!!! First thing she asked me was, what i am using, at that time i was using blistex, chap stick, burt bees & soft lips. Right away she told me to throw all away and use 100% pure petroleum jelly and only use hypoallergenic lipsticks &lipgloss!! :( no more MAC!!:((( she said Almay is hypoallergenic.
162948 tn?1205256292 I know your period is the lining in your uterus which the mirena keeps it thin so obviously keeps mine to nothing since i dont bleed. I am really concerned now as to how long it is going to take me to concieve. I had a friend who got hers pulled out and got pregnant the next day. Now I really wonder when I should get it taken out. Now or when hes here so we can have sex right away.
Avatar n tn The yeast infection is gone now, but I am still swollen and still have slight burning every now and then, not so much painful as it is annoying, and it has been 5 days since I used this product! It's going down a bit, but it seems to be taking its time..anyone know how I might be able to speed the healing process?? Next time I'll just get the Diflucan and avoid all of this!
Avatar f tn I often feel sick to my stomach after eating, too. People have tried to 'show me' how to burp, but it hasn't worked. I once even had my husband give me a modified Heimlich to no avail (and not a good idea, either). This is terrible!
Avatar f tn For those at the beginning of the cycle, A suggestion to cure OHSS, I was told to take raw 2 egg whites to cure the over bloatedness. Worth a try! Praying for the best and the best wishes to all you moms-to-be as well!
Avatar n tn So anyways I had to go to the hospital 2 days ago, they did give me pain medication because my head has a bad pain in it the whole back I can't even touch it and the pain is getting worse sitting here typing but I want to try and finish, the hospital also got me in today to see a doctor (Neurology) he checked me over asked me about how I was feeling.
Avatar m tn I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it.
Avatar n tn My lips itch and burn and are also sometimes swollen. They also peel, look dry and cracked, and since this started, make me look much older I have gotten a salve from my dermotologist, which helps somewhat. (She said I am allergic to most toothpaste and I now use Toms which is a natural toothpaste - it has helped to some degree) I am constantly applying lip balm or chap stick, but nothing seems to help the problem entirely. My eyelids itch, are red and also get dry and flakey.

Avatar m tn These substances also make you cough and sneeze in order to expel the viruses, which helps you get rid of them, and also helps the virus to spread to other humans.
Avatar n tn I used to get it on my lips as well and it would turn into the worst dry cracked lips ever. I finally figured out it is a yeast allergy. I was making bread with my mom and I put my hands in the dough. They immediately began to itch and broke out in the bumps all over. After lengthy elimination diets I have discovered I am allergic to yeast and some wheat. When I cut them both out of my diet a laundry list of other problems went away as well.

Avatar n tn I've been back to my doctor twice since starting the synthroid to explain to her how devastating these mouth sores are. She gave me a script for Valtrex and said if that doesn't work go see a nutritionist. I don't feel like I'm getting heart burn, but perhaps GERD is a possibility? 3 years ago I had to have my gallbladder removed after a long battle of being misdiagnosed.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
748543 tn?1463449675 One of the most difficult concepts to get across to my TMD patients and other doctors is the connectivity of the Jaw and the Neck. In fact, it is my strong belief that TMD/TMJ should really be classified as a Craniocervical Disease and hence fall under the umbrella of medical coverage rather than treated strictly as a dental problem. To the Neuromuscular-minded dentist, "Occlusion" is an extension of general Postural Consideration.
544292 tn?1268886268 I used to wake up happy all the time, before the Tramadol. Waking up happy is good. Then I tried to move. I had to use my hands and arms to get up out of bed. My body has been pushed as far as it will go. So after trying all my best tricks (aminos, coffee, food, vitamins, water) I finally stopped the struggle and called in sick for work. Tomorrow will be a busier day anyhow.
429155 tn?1205676864 Because I thought the worst was over....and it isn't, at least for me. I know how horrible the emotions are. To hear and see a grown man to his knees tells me I'm not just overreacting as a crazy woman....this is are not alone. Oh dear!!!! I hope I miss that bit, just when things seem to be getting better.
Avatar n tn That problem Eucerin or any fragrance-free, potent, extreme dry skin or itch relief lotion helps. You do have to be diligent in applying often and it helps to apply RIGHT out of the shower so that your body does not dry out and absorbs the moisture while your pores are still open. Along with that I have psoriasis (mild) on my scalp which results in scabbing, itching, and heavy build-up. This can be treated with some relief with a tar based or clarifying build-up remover shampoo.
Avatar n tn When I took this drug approximately 3 years ago, I had the common side effects (dry skin, dry lips, dry eyes, sore joints). I was 22 years old when I took the drug and I weighed 250 pounds. I took 50mg/day for 5 months. I was fine afterwards aside from a sore back. The Acne cleared up completely. Approximately 1 year after I stopped taking the drug, I started to feel horrible and had thoughts of suicide.
Avatar n tn I am trying to figure out how to post an answer to this issue. Believe it or not, some itchy eyelids are caused by a mite called a demodex. By removing one lash and testing it by looking under a microscope, proper treatment can assist you in possibly eliminating your problem. I didn't read this idea on any of the posts. hope this goes through.
Avatar n tn I have never heard of this before and am also amazed at how common it is, yet no cures! I have been tempted to cut my ear off to stop the itching.
Avatar n tn I have a white coated tongue and it burns and feels almost like sandpaper. My lips too are dry and cracked constantly. My mouth is very dry. I have good and bad news. The good is that it could be only a yeast infection in your mouth called thrush. The bad news is that ive been treated for thrush 3 or 4 times in my 4 year quest to get rid of this. Your symptoms sound like thrush as does mine. My symptoms have alleviated in the past year or two but it is still slightly there.
288415 tn?1231634102 im so happy now to have found a cure i really wanted to share it with everyone. also i want to thank the poster above or else i wouldve never thought to have tried dog medicine for my ear. goodluck everyone!
Avatar n tn You should consult with your doc and try to figure out ome compromising positions with your boyfriend that will accomidate both of you since he isn't going to get any smaller and you aren't going to get any bigger. However, over time, I do believe that a woman's body will learn how to adapt to her mate. Hopefully sooner than later.
Avatar n tn I once used a Oilitum Plus liquid that you add to water to moisten them up (as they crack when over dry).Doc has also given me some Double Base cream that will act as a barrier for when I wash up and shower. I need a cure very badly for the itching - I seem to wake up in the morning vigurously scratching my inflamed hands. I hope this doesnt happen on my wedding day - the ring wont fit!!!!!!!!!!!noooooooooo!
Avatar n tn It appears I'm in the 2nd stage of it, as indicated most everywhere you read about it. My hands are dry, peeling, and cracked. I'm continuing to put cream/steroid medication on it. Hopefully the itchy stage won't recur...
