Avatar f tn I am 19 and I have really large boobs, I am currently size 32 J and I am unhappy with the way my body looks, people are always staring and i often feel uncofortable in my clothes, I was wondering about the whole breast reduction procedure and how to go about getting it done, and if possible to know how much i could have them reduced by.
7251241 tn?1389564212 I think the breast reduction will be a good thing for you. I too know women who have had this and all are quite pleased. You go down to a more comfortable and natural size-- and so much of the pain and issues are gone. The downside is that it obviously is a surgery that has inherent risks. But I think from what you describe, the benefits may outweigh that tremendously.
1453524 tn?1295627371 Has anyone here had immense breast pain along with the jumble of other symptoms. It almost feels like after giving birth?
Avatar n tn If her breast size is causing HER discomfort such as back pain, she can have surgical breast reduction. Or if she is gaining breast size as she gains weight, losing weight will also reduce them. But overall, your job is to love your wife and make her feel good about herself rather than trying to change her.
Avatar f tn s kind of a wait and see how much you are able to feed but I have heard of women nursing after reduction! Just breastfeed, maybe even pump after each feed initially to try and increase your supply and just keep an eye on how many diapers baby is going through in a day. And I agree, a lactation consultant is a must because breastfeeding is challenging enough in itself sometimes so it's nice to have someone you can call or make an appt with to help you out!
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction four months ago. I am still in pain. Some of the pain is from underneath the breast (which I can't find a bra that doesn't hurt), but the majority of the pain feels like electric shocks or being zapped. When I first started getting these "electric shocks or feeling of being zapped" the nurse said it was because the nerve ending were severed and to take 300 mg of ibuprofen every four hours.
Avatar f tn ) Pretty youthful for my advanced age -- I must say that breast reduction is a great surgery, pretty much pain free and it made my life SO much more comfortable. I didn't have really large breasts until I got into menopause and then they took on a life of their own and moved to another zip code!
Avatar n tn I am in so much pain in my right breast. I have to take pain pills everyday (and I can take pain). I can not lay on my stomach anymore,on my right side, or take a shower and have the water fall on my right side. I recently had to undergo a surgery for the pain...they found 8 lumps, fat necorsis,an extremly rare inflammation due to the breast reduction, fluid left from the surgery, and hematomos. The surgeon that did this last surgery said that I may or maynot be in pain for the rest of my life...
1282828 tn?1271464078 Just had breast reduction on March 26, 2010. Incisions along breast crease opened. I am using a hydrogel and 0.9% saline wet to dry dressing. Just wondering if this is a normal occurrence. Also, have discomfort in nipple area, comes and goes, not continuous. How long does it take for wounds to close and is this customary. The surgeon took off approximately 5lbs. Is silvidene ok as dressing?
Avatar n tn My best friend got breast reduction surgery yesterday, and she is always in a lot of pain. She's on a few rather strong oral narcotics, but she still can't really move without being in pain. She can't sit up on her own, or sleep on her sides without causing pain to the breast area. If it helps, she went from an H cup to a B or C cup, which is a rather big change. She can't sleep at all, so she has a large area under her eyes that is dark and baggy from lack of sleep.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having crazy breast pain? I'm just over 11 weeks and it feels like the tenderness will not go away. When will it end?
Avatar f tn I have been denied breast reduction twice by my HMO based insurance, because they said it was for cosmetic reasons. I believe that this surgery would help the pain in my shoulders and my upper back. They are size 36DD and I only weigh 115. I sent an appeal out with my medical documents and a letter about my condition. I would like to know what it is I can do to get this surgery approved. I've tried everything, and I'm stuck! How do I get them to approve of this surgery!?
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction (about 8 lbs total) over a year ago and have several problems. I have burning and pain and lots of scar tissue in both breast and wondered if anyone has any suggestions? Some days are worse than others.
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction done 10 years ago. I have many scars as a result. I also have fibrocystic breasts. I usually have my doc or obgyn do my breast exams because I find them difficult to do myself because of the nature of my breasts. What I am wondering is has anyone here ever had a breast reduction and find it difficult to distinguish between whats a problem lump and what is scar tissue. I have a lot of cysts some that move some that dont.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! Has anyone tried feeding after having a breast reduction? I fed my first but that was 15 years ago and I had a reduction about 10 years ago.
Avatar n tn My health insurance ghi does not cover breast lift or reduction. I am currently a size 42dd and my breast are sagging. I cannot afford the procedure or do not know exactly what I need if its a breast lift or reduction. I suffer from shoulder pains almost everyday am my doctor only prescribe me motrin for the pain. Avatar n tn I had a breast reduction in 2000. It was a C cut I believe, where they cut underneath the breast in the shape of a C and I have a scar line up the center of the breast to the nipple. So I guess it is a C with a center line. I have had 3 children since my reduction, and was able to partially breast feed. I never got much production of milk, and ended up only being able to provide partial milk, and for only a few months per each child.
583196 tn?1429221155 But an old friend of mine had major breast reduction surgery and she breast-fed her daughter. People with breast implants can also breastfeed successfully. It will just be dependent on if they took tissue out underneath the breasts or if they took out any milk ducts, etc. I say read up on breastfeeding because you just might be able to do it!
1705896 tn?1314811839 If a breast reduction stops chronic back and shoulder pain, which can also lead to neck problems and headaches, then there is no question that you should go ahead with the procedure. If the procedure also helps you emotionally........if it will make you feel better about yourself and your appearance, if your self-esteem will increase, if you will stop feeling like people look not at YOU, but your breasts.........then you should go ahead with the procedure.
Avatar f tn In summer (July-ish) 2008 I had a breast reduction surgery. It looks wonderful. However, spring of last year I had a bit of pain last year in the right breast, but since it went away I just said "eh its still healing." Lately I've noticed that areas have pretty much hardened, one area in specific. I am trying not to be too concerned about it, becasue I am only 21 and in all likelihood with my surgery it is scar tissue or fat necrosis or with my age its fibroadenoma...
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had a breast reduction and got pregnant afterwards? It's been about six years since I had my breast reduction. I am 37 weeks pregnant and I am wondering will I produce any milk?
520691 tn?1213961844 I'm 16, and I have 36E/F breasts.. I have thought about breast reduction when i am old enough... Is there anything I can do besides having that done?
2056851 tn?1332202272 Very possible that all this pain comes from your breasts and it may be time to consider a reduction (if you can get a dr or two to agree that this is causing severe back pain that will only get worse insurance will usually cover a breast reduction) or trying to loose weight if your breast size comes from being overweight.
Avatar n tn I assume you have a great bra that keeps things up? Have you tried any of the medical powders like Gold Bond? If it gets really bad, if you have health insurance, look into whether it covers breast reduction surgery. Even insurance that won't mess with anything cosmetic will do reductions, because too-large breasts cause so much pain.
