i was at 100 mgs of hydrocodone/which is the drug in ur syrup/ for 4 yrs and my physical wds were over in 4 days..went back to work day 5...exercising helped..Moving, Medhelp and Meetings is how I made it...Move even if u do not feel like it There is usually 5 mgs of hydro in one tsp of the cough surup..some have 6 mgs. so however many tsps u did daily would approximate ur use amount if u multiply it by 5 another thing in ur favor is 6 months is not a long time...

Hi I have been on hycodan (5mg of hydrocodone in a single 5ml dose) for my bad cough from my sinus infection. I have been taking the medication for 2 weeks almost everyday. Maybe 3 days where I didn't take any at all. Most days I took only 5ml once but some I took 5 ml twice a day and a few days I took 10 ml twice a day. I am going off of it after tonight and I am wondering if I should expect any withdrawal symptoms and how bad they might be.

i think that you need to have a talk with your doctor, tell them that you need something non-narcotic to control your asthma (actually, he should have d/c the hycodan syrup when the asthma was diagnosed) theres alot of really great new meds to control your breathing problems. second, not sure how much you were taking...but day you should start feeling better sooner than later, but, yeah...that's all normal withdrawal, keep on keeping on!

AND, I was given a Rx for Hycodan syrup, which, as we all know, has hydrocodone in it. But my husband gave it to me when I needed it, and I took it only as ordered. I flushed the rest of it. I did know about the cough formulas of hydrocodone but have never seen it used for pain relief alone. Hycodan does come in a tablet but in all forms it contains an antitussive. Many ppl can not take the antitussive long term for numerous reasons. I have allergies and it would interfere with the medications I take for those. And Lawless, Red is correct. six doses of 750mg of acetaminophen (apap) is above the recommended daily intake. I'll bet your medical provider just made a mistake.

I usually break them in half or take 1 throughout the day as prescribed but have been told to take two in severe instances and did so before going to sleep tonight.
