My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me??? I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt. I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right. I'm on 250mcg. I would rather pay for them then be miserable.

Hi again I would like to add that yes we have all see the posts about side effects that some people have experienced. Most if not all are related to treatment with interferon and while the problems those people have experienced are not good they are experienced by a minority of patients. Also I believe at least some of them had other medical conditions which most likely complicated their treatment or their livers were already in bad shape to begin with.

Without insurance, it can cost $10,000 or more, depending on how much medication you need. Not sure about how much insurance would cover...I think that depends on your insurance policy. Best of luck!

First, I was prescribed Pravacol which brought on a strong anxiety attack after taking it for 3 days. I was then given Crestor. The point is that pharmaceutical companies have a LOT more than raw material prices to worry about when it comes to pricing their products. How much do the machines cost that stamp out the pills? How about a few thousand of these same machines? Life ain't cheap, and in many cases we're the ones that made it that way. Oops. And I almost forgot about the little weasel-looking guy that stuffs all that cotton in the pill bottles. Bet he don't work cheap either.

I have insurance but mines was able to give me an estimate of how much a vaginal birth and c - section would cost out of pocket.
