paxil

Avatar f tn how long b4 paxil kicks in.
Avatar n tn If you have an idiot for a psychiatrist like most of us, you can find weaning schedules on the internet by using Google. As for how long it stays in the system, the actual drug is out of the system in hours. But withdrawal has less to do with whether the drug is your system or not to what your body has to do to get back to stasis without the drug.
Avatar m tn PsYcHiAtRiStS get your nasty hands off ppl's life. Every hour late on my paxil-10 intake costs me a horrible day/night of vertigo, light-headedness and a vague sense of light and unbalanced movement as if waving through the air. I quote you --as published rediculously on web--": only %0.3 of the whole patients are experiencing the discontinuity side effects of paxil" you fool me?
Avatar m tn I hate being impotent and feel like It made me numb emotionally. I just wish I knew how long this whole withdrawal process is supposed to last. I'm going to talk to my doctor and see what I should do of course but, I just wanted to hear if anyone else has gone through this and if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm scared that I'll never be the same again! I have a full bottle of Paxil and wonder if I should just take it. Not the whole bottle, just the prescribed dose.
Avatar m tn Xanax can be used for the long term, but it is not recommened. Xanax is designed to combat the symptoms of a panic attack at it's onset only as it is quick to act and doesn't stay in your system as long. klonopin is used as a daily preventative as it builds up and stays in your system longer than xanax that is why it is better for long term maitanence.
Avatar m tn ll try finding out how long paxil stays in your system. Hang in there, your brain will start making serintonin to replace the paxil. keep talking to us. it helps.
Avatar m tn How well the brain is able to do this determines how bad and how long the withdrawal is, and since your brain is yours alone, your experience will be yours alone as well. Be careful and gentle with yourself, and try taking a healthy dose of fish oil, which some have reported helps to ease some of the withdrawal side effects.
Avatar f tn So, I'm just wondering how long withdrawal from Tramadol usually lasts. I have been doing a lot better lately; the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
527657 tn?1214051850 Does anyone know about how long it takes for antidepressants to get completely out of your system? I was on paxil for two years and gained too much weight so my doctor switched me to zoloft for 3 weeks. Im off both now offically today. Or at least I hope so. Im not planning on taking any more zoloft unless the withdrawel is too bad. I weaned off it. Also does anyone know how long it takes to start losing the weight from these drugs?
Avatar f tn There is disagreement about this, so you won't get a consensus answer. The reason some psychiatrists use Prozac is this: Paxil is really hard to stop taking, so the theory is that if you can get the person hooked on Prozac doing similar things to serotonin that Paxil was doing the withdrawal will be controlled.
398624 tn?1266269449 Yes, this is normal, It usually takes about 4-6 weeks for the medication to get into the system and start doing it's job.
Avatar n tn ve been on Paxil, but my entire experience with Paxil is that it makes me nauseous and shake no matter how long I take it for. My body can't seem to get over the side-effects, so for a while I was only taking the Paxil every three to four days (they were extended-release pills) and I seemed to be alright. But for the past few weeks I decided to try to get off Paxil completely. It honestly does more harm than good and I want it gone.
467977 tn?1262714747 If it started after, have you noticed ANY improvement in it since you first started the Paxil? How long have you been on the Klonopin? I'm just wondering if perhaps you need a slightly higher dose of the Klonopin (like maybe twice a day instead of once). You definitely need to discuss this with your doc. I know it's rough...because it DOES seem like the Paxil is helping with the panic attacks....
Avatar n tn A pharmacist where you fulfil your prescriptions is also a great source of information. In general, paxil and klonopin are frequently prescribed together. They are safe in terms of drug interactions but for the patient, side effects can increase. That is individual to the patient though. Do you take the beta blocker on a regular basis for your heart or for acute bouts of anxiety such as giving a speech?
1758627 tn?1312855055 each benzo has a different half-life. this is how long the drug stays in your system. the shorter the half-life, the harder it is to withdrawal. the longer (like valium), the easier it is to withdrawal...for most people, anyway.
983155 tn?1248700406 I heard its rough to get off Paxil, are u under Drs care? I know u can't go cold turkey, thats for sure, its going to take a while, think of how long it took for it to work, so it could be a few more weeks, hang in there! What symptoms are u having?
Avatar n tn What is the long term effects from being on Paxil, say ten to twenty years. Has there ever been a study?
Avatar f tn Along with building fat into muscle and changing that whole ratio in your system. Growing older - menopause - supplements - pregnancy - and even some foods can change the levels. Your doctor won't run tests? Any medication administered - if it is not the correct dosage can abrupt the system and cause problems.
Avatar m tn its not advised to stop taking any antidepressant unless under doctors supervision on how to cut down. 30 mg is a fairly high dose, and stopping cold turkey is not a good idea.
Avatar f tn Prozac actually gets in your system much more slowly than Paxil, and leaves your system much more slowly. Paxil is one of the most difficult meds to quit. What you're getting is bad info from everyone. For one thing, Prozac is just as likely to cause suicidal thinking as Paxil -- all antidepressants can do this. But they generally do it when you first start taking them, not after many years on them.
Avatar f tn I personally would not choose seraquil for anxiety unless I had underlying symptoms. The benifit of seroquel is it stays in your system longer than the xanax does, it would also get rid of the comming down feeling you can sometimes get with xanax.25mg. of seroquel is a very low yet reasonable strength for your needs You can over time develop a resistant to the mgs. your taking and will have to raise the dose or go to something else.I am bi polar 1 rapid cycler with acute anxiety. I take 100 mgs.
397118 tn?1219762250 Ok the title says it all lol, How long does marijuana stay in your system? I never did marijuana so don't know is for my nephew he keeps saying he is not doing any and every test is positive and occording to him the last time he use was 5 months ago but every month the test is positive. What do you guys think? is it like he says that it stays in your body for a long time or he is still using?
Avatar f tn I know it is short acting but how long does it stay in your system? Is it 4 or 6 hours? The reason I am asking is sometimes if I have an attack and it helps but by bedtime I might start feeling like I'm going to have another. So I was worndering if it was the xanax wearing off or if I was just still feeling some more anxiety. Thanxs to all.
