How long is fentanyl in your system

Common Questions and Answers about How long is fentanyl in your system

Avatar n tn fentanyl is about 100 times stronger than morphine- (gram for gram), and a lot of people have a harder time getting off that, and oral morphine as well. Your transition was bad probably because it takes time for the fentanyal to release into your body fats under the skin, and from 48 to 72 hours from body fats to the blood stream. And remember that fentanyl patches are in micro-grams per hour, and release slowly, and morphine salts don't metabolize very well for a lot of people.
Avatar f tn What dose of the patch are you on? How long have you been on it? Did you get sunburned (even slightly) when you were out the day before your accident? The day of the accident, had you changed your patch and put on a new one or was it still the same patch that had been on the day before?
Avatar f tn Fentynal is usually prescribed in 25mcg/hr to 200mcg/hr patches. The higher your dose the longer the withdrawal lasts. Fentynal is one of the strongest opiates. I would expect the acute withdrawal symptoms to start easing in the next few days, maybe another week. This is for the acute withdrawals. Expect significant lack of energy and problems with sleep for a couple more months. You have some of the hardest work behind you. You should be proud of what you've already accomplished.
Avatar f tn I never even knew I would have withdrawal, although I may be being really naive. long do these symptoms last? The worst is restless leg, but the runny nose and severe pain in my back and elsewhere is pretty bad, too. I feel like I can't stand it another minute.
Avatar f tn How long does it take to get nicotine out of your system?
872115 tn?1242182670 It is quite possible that the meds are not all out of your system. Fentanyl has a very long half life. Good for you sticking it out. It is a rough road.
Avatar f tn Be persistent in your goal of properly tirating your new, effective dose. Keep a pain diary, and stay in close touch with your doctor's office. Ask to come in that day if necessary. Feeling additional pain can only make your chronic pain condition worse. Stay on top of this. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn Phi, as always, is correct about how long it takes the Fentanyl to get into your system. If you are on the patch for 36 hrs and on that 3rd day you feel more pain, son's hesitate to tell your Dr. that because he/she can order it for you for every 48 hrs. I know how frightening it was for you when you were taken off the oxycontin. It's always scarry when we lose the med that we've been on for so long.
Avatar m tn I looked up the facts sheet on how long it takes for Fentanyl to be completely out of your system (50% in 17 hours) then you have to half that again and again every 17 hours to come up with the true number of when it reaches ZERO! that will be midnight tonight for me. Which means that until it is completely out of my system I can't even start the count down to recovery. It could take two or three weeks after my system is completely void of Fentanyl. YIKES! That is so scary...
Avatar f tn My question is a simple one. If I go through it again either voluntary or involuntary HOW long can one expect the worst of symptoms to FINALLY subside. The crawling in the skin, vomiting, diarrhea, can't sleep or eat. I've done all kinds of research and have read the warnings and horror stories. I also know that it varies on body type, age, amount and length of abuse. I have also concluded that cold turkey although not suggested or liked will not kill you.
Avatar f tn Scoenen: Listen hun, doctors think the world can be fixed with medication. Especially ones who dish pills for a living. I'm sure your husband is great guy but don't expect someone who spent years learning how medications work and the benefit of taking pills to understand what it's like to be on them long term.
635798 tn?1223444631 A lot of doctors have no idea how bad it is and how strong it is. Where I live they give it like candy to people in chronic pain and patients that have intertiical cysitis like me. They told me oh try this it will help you take less vicodin. I spoke to 3 psychiatrists that are addiction specialist and had no idea about fentanyl. Thank god for the few people that were here to help me that detoxed off it. If you need specific or any other info just private message me.
874891 tn?1240432420 Addicted to Fentanyl patches , wondering how long i have to be in withdraws before starting suboxzone. Can I take clondine while in withdraws, any advice apperciated.
Avatar f tn 13, 2007). I have been prescribed just about every narcotic pain med there is morphine, dilaudid, fentanyl, percocet, vicodin, etc. For the last few years I've been taking the fentanyl patches (50 mcg) along with percocet (10mg x5/day), back in Nov I started weaning myself off I cut the fentanyl first, then went from 5 percs a day to 5 vics a day, and have stayed there for the last few months. Well last week I decided to try and quit cold turkey, and right now I'm right around day 7.
1198242 tn?1265182918 Thanks for your straight forward answer! Very appreciated! Fortunately, depression has not been an issue at all. Anxiety either, except for like a couple of days (day 2, 3 and 4). I am sleeping again after like 25 days. Just this annoying fatigue. Am also taking melatonin and a multi vitamin. Good to hear you've been off for 3 days. You know I have read in many posts that you should take amino acids to help your brain reboot and feel better. Like l-tyrosine.
Avatar f tn If you're talking about 9 each of 100 mcg fentanyl patches that are each worn for three days, then yes you'll be right back in the toilet again. If you wear them properly, that's 100 mcg each hour for three days, which means you have nearly a month supply of fentanyl patches. If you abuse them further, meaning take them in any way other than wearing each of them for 3 days, you're still in big trouble.
601891 tn?1238510452 Just want to send some prayers and support your way also. I've also heard how fentanyl is a really hard detox.. You are going off just cold turkey? Kudos to you for doing this.. as far as the smoking.. Yeah.. Im right there with you.. when I detoxed off suboxone, cigarettes were the only thing I had and boy did I cling to them.. I dont think the thought to quit them at the same time would have even sounded like english to me ..
Avatar f tn Converting Fentanyl to equal 360 mg of Oxycontin with the opioid calculator results in 300 mcg/hr. This is the largest dose conversion that is shown in the fentanyl prescription leaflet that comes in the box with the medication. So your doctor's thoughts that you need to keep going up on the Fentanyl patch are CORRECT. There is another option for you.
