Hi, My sister removed her wisdom teeth last one and half month back. Her half tongue had lost sensation and when she does more talking then her tongue gets heavy. I am almost 24 years old and I have all four of my wisdom teeth. I avoided going to the dentist during college, and when I FINALLY went in August, he told me I needed my wisdom teeth out, pronto. I went to see an oral surgeon and he disagreed with my dentist that I really needed them out urgently. He said that because my teeth were fully grown, many people my age elect to take a "wait and see" approach.
Almost 2 years ago I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed, ever since I have had problems with my jaw. My jaw now pops, clicks, grinds, and makes crunching noises as well as locks. It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not.

My daughter (16 years old) had her wisdom teeth out about 16 days ago. She had "cysts"(what the oral surgeon called them) around her bottom 2 wisdom teeth and the top 2 teeth were impacting the sinuses so he had to put extra stitches in to close the sinus. The bottom left one was the worst and had to have an extra long incision cut into it. It would not quit bleeding so it was packed with gauze and we returned 4 days later for removal of the packing.
I've read many stories on here and mine is similar. Following wisdom teeth extraction I was given vicodin. I liked the way it made me feel and how it made dealing with everday problems seem easier. I've been taking about 10mgs a day (all at night) and 100mgs of tramadol during the day for about 6 months now. I've had enough and tapered down to almost nothing for a week before stopping completely. It's been 5 days now since I've had anything.
