I have had the same thing going on. I found out last week that it is a fibroid causing my long AF's and the spotting that is happening between and before AF. My last cycle lasted 41 days and the ones before that were 34 days...I wish you luck in finding some answers. I would go to the dr. just to get checked out though..

Spotting between periods could be caused by uterine polyps. You should ask your gyno to do an ultrasound to rule that out before you get the IUD. The IUD helps for bleeding but only if your uterus is clear of polyps and/or fibroids. Otherwise you'll still have bleeding issues anyway even with the IUD.

My nurse practicioner did tell me this could cause it. I got another Kenalog shot last Monday and started spotting today!!! I was good for a month! I have had Kenalog shots quite often when I get upper respiratory infections due to my low immune system. Could this be the problem??

im 17 and ive gotten the shot 3 times...first time i didnt bleed at all 2nd time twards the end when i needed a new shot i bled for a good month straight...i just got the shot again yesterday so hopefully it stops..i decided to switch to IUD after this last shot...if you get it uninsured theyll insert the one with no hormones and youll still get your periods...if your insurance covers it they can insert the one with hormones and you wont get your period and they both last 5 years.
