Avatar m tn I hate being impotent and feel like It made me numb emotionally. I just wish I knew how long this whole withdrawal process is supposed to last. I'm going to talk to my doctor and see what I should do of course but, I just wanted to hear if anyone else has gone through this and if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm scared that I'll never be the same again! I have a full bottle of Paxil and wonder if I should just take it. Not the whole bottle, just the prescribed dose.
Avatar f tn I'm trying to get off Paxil by cross tapering with Prozac to minimize withdrawal symptoms. Right now I'm on 10mg paxil. but I'm not sure how to proceed? My doctor said to take 20mg prozac along with 10 paxil for a month which I don't agree with. Thats because I think if prozac stays that long in my system I will also have trouble getting off of it. So my plan is: Week 1) 10mg paxil 10mg prozac. Week 2) 5mg paxil 20mg prozac. Week 3) 0mg paxil 20mg prozac. then stop.
Avatar n tn I posted quite a bit the last couple of days due to my 'manic' reaction to this drug. Been taking it a week and going to stop today. It's way too much for me. How long does it take to get out of the system? Will I need to ween off as it has just be a short period? Any input appreciated.
Avatar n tn ve been on Paxil, but my entire experience with Paxil is that it makes me nauseous and shake no matter how long I take it for. My body can't seem to get over the side-effects, so for a while I was only taking the Paxil every three to four days (they were extended-release pills) and I seemed to be alright. But for the past few weeks I decided to try to get off Paxil completely. It honestly does more harm than good and I want it gone.
Avatar n tn Fish oil might help with the brain zaps. As for how long withdrawal lasts, it depends on the person. So does the taper. If you feel you need to, you can go back on the drug at the last dose at which you didn't have withdrawal and taper more slowly. Effexor is known for tough withdrawals, so what you're feeling isn't at all unusual. I'm not sure what the problem would be taking the klonopin.
Avatar n tn They usually start right away within a day or two but some people do not have withdrawal symptoms at all and you may be one of the lucky ones. If you do have symptoms you might consider a slower withdrawal over a three-week period before you stop.
Avatar f tn Heroin in far worse physiologically, and Paxil far worse emotionally to withdraw from. And Paxil withdrawal can last a whole lot longer. But the reason it's not addictive is, to be technically considered addictive, you have to need to continually increase the dose to get the same effect. That's not true of ssris. But addiction is actually a medical term that has found it's way into our common lexicon in all kinds of erroneous ways.
10608291 tn?1411415602 I don't know if I can distinguish what is real emotion or withdrawal from Effexor, Lamictal, Remeron. How long does this last. I have been taking St. John's Wort, B12, Valerian, and L Tyrosene to build up my own natural supply of serotonin, dopamine. This crying thing is the pits. I'm so sick of medications. I want to have a baby without spina bifida or missing limbs and cardiac anamolies, I've been on and off meds for years.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, there can be some long term withdrawal from Paxil. We had a member who was very experienced with this, but he’s no longer on the forum. I was prescribed Paxil, at one point… my doctor insisted that because I was tired, I had to be depressed. I wasn’t - years later, it turned out to be Vitamin B-12 deficiency, but I only took the Paxil for a couple of weeks.
Avatar n tn I was on 40 mg of Paxil for 4 years and couldn't take the severe exhaustion , "numbness if feeling" or fog so I stopped 6 days ago , cold turkey. How long will the symptoms last and what can I do to relieve them (without a new antidepressant).
Avatar m tn I am also vomiting, my speech is slow and sometimes slurred, my thoughts are random and I am dead tired on my feet. Can anyone tell me how long it will be before the numbness goes away? I can deal with everything else....but the numbness is horrible. Thank you.
Avatar m tn So, now she is off the butalbital - cold turkey and says the withdrawal is hell. Does anyone know how long the withdrawal lasts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn So, I'm just wondering how long withdrawal from Tramadol usually lasts. I have been doing a lot better lately; the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn t the problem I had, for which I was prescribed Paxil in the first place, and which I have had for a very long time. What I have now began during the Paxil withdrawal and hasn't gone away. None of the doctors I've seen know what to do. Read what people write, not just what you want to hear that matches your own experiences. People have different experiences.
Avatar n tn Anyone have any suggestions about how to get past this terrible nausea and dizziness? How long does it last after you stop taking Paxil? I was prepared to suffer through the withdrawal symptoms after having tried to come off the medicine 4 times; however, I was very hopeful the Prozac would significantly reduce the symptoms. Since it hasn't, I am feeling very discouraged and frustrated. I just want to feel normal again. And Paxil didn't even completely control my panic attacks!
Avatar f tn I have been on Paxil (20mg) daily for 5 years. I moved last year and hadn't found a new doctor in my new location. (Long story, won't bore you.) Didn't worry much as my previous long time doctor had been calling in refills for me. Found this last month that can no longer happen...by state law they need to see me. Found a new local doctor, scheduled an appointment, waited 3 weeks for it and it was intake only. They accepted me as a patient and scheduled me in with the primary doctor..
Avatar m tn Long term cognitive problems with paxil? Any recent news or personal experiences regarding long term use..loss of memory, etc.
