Common Questions and Answers about How long does it take antibiotics to get in your system

Avatar m tn for gonorrhea, whatever that means, and I was told they'd have to run more tests to see if that's what it really was. In the meantime, 72 hours after the antibiotics, the discharge has not abated, and I'm having increased discomfort during urination, as well as increasing frequency. So, is it normal for ceftriaxone to take several days to eliminate symptoms of gonorrhea?
Avatar n tn Welcome. I am very sorry about your son's illness. I can't really add anymore info.than Jackie has already given you. Is your son't doctor a lyme specialist?
Avatar n tn The irritation showing back up in the morning is normal. As for how long it takes to get rid of it, that depends upon the strain. There are many drug resistant strains that take longer courses of treatment to irradicate. If you reacted to your med, i.e. became more red and irritated than previously, I woulde not use that type again. You would be setting yourself up for a full blown reaction and that really hurts.
Avatar m tn I had my first attack with a kidney stone. It came on suddenly and was so painful I thought I was going to die. Went to the hospital ER and was taken in immediately. I did not receive any pain medication until the blood tests were evaluated. The pain meds only took the edge off the pain but it was a welcomed relief. My pain was a 10+ and pain management brought it down to a 3 to 4 but what a relief it was. After approximately 3 hours in the ER the pain stopped.
Avatar f tn Anyway I'm still feeling unwell, tired and my tonsils are still inflamed and sore especially on the side where 4 teeth were removed. How long does it take to get over the infection? And how long to heal? Thank you!
Avatar m tn So, as for the original question of this forum, how long does it take to go away, in my case, one month and still with issues. Very depressed. I canceled a business trip that was on Oct/17 just because I feel it would compromise my professional life in other latitudes, and upcoming vacations on December might have to be canceled too, as I was going to walk a lot.
Avatar f tn Acidophilus is the more commonly used probiotic, but it is killed by the antibiotics you take if taken too close together in time. How much time is needed between taking the acidophilus and the antibiotics? At least a couple of hours, as I recall, but a pharmacist could answer that more accurately. The advantage to S.boulardii is that it is *not* affected by the antibiotics you take, so S.boulardii can be taken at any time without conflict. [Side note: I had a reaction to S.
5264083 tn?1404669334 I know many women have experienced late periods from antibiotics. I'm hoping that someone can tell me their experiences, and how long it took for their period to come.
Avatar m tn My main question is that I dont really understand the treatment for Lyme disease yet? Does it go away with the antibiotics? Or does it never go away? Is there a point were it is to late? I ask because no one has been able to find out what is causing my symptoms. The last good doctor I had I had to abandon in Missouri when I moved to New York.

Avatar m tn Take probiotics to get your body back to normal. Look for something called kefir; it's like drinkable yogurt, and restores your good bacteria better than yogurt does. Antibiotics are very harsh on your digestive system, so you need a little more time to recuperate. If you're doing alright after a month you're lucky. There are many forums where people who have done the therapy you did take many months to recover. Don't worry, keep going to the gym, and eat right!
Avatar n tn Your doctor should include these limitations in your medical report so that the SSA includes them in your RFC. How Your RFC Affects the Disability Determination If the SSA finds you should still be able to do your prior job despite the limitations in your RFC, you will be denied disability benefits. However, if the SSA decides you are unable to do your past work, the SSA will decide if there is other work you can do.
3060903 tn?1398568723 The [FDA] has signaled it wants to take action to plug a major loophole in the rules governing antibiotic use in livestock to try and slow drug resistance. The agency published a request for comments on a plan to establish treatment time limits for a number of antibiotics that currently do not come with any instructions on how long they can be used … That lack of guidance leads some analysts to fear producers may be dosing their animals for substantially longer than they need to.

4451049 tn?1387157037 I admire you sense of honor in wanting to pay back what others might contribute to help you get treated. Just note it down in the 'Things To Do When I Am Well' list, and even if it's a year or more, and even it's only a few dollars every now and then, then take solace and pride in the fact that you are helping others as you were helped. Make a mental note to self, and a resolution on New Year's Day that, when able, you will pay back what you can, when you can.
Avatar n tn Hi - and yes you are pretty definitely experiencing anxiety as a result of the use of antibiotics. This is a syndrome that is not well known or explored. I started getting this same reaction - to any antibiotic - when I was about 36 years old. I have found that by avoiding the use of antibiotics for a number of years - that when the need for me to take them came up again - my body had adjusted and the reaction was not so severe. But that was only for a period of about 10 days.
