I am having problems with the sling. Pain and I really feel like I want to rip it out somedays. Depending on the chair and how long I sit. My urethea area falls asleep. Tingling sensations that last for several minutes and spasms. The sling may be to tight. I don't want to go through surgery again. The Dr wanted to loosen it up. I don't think that is the answer.

seeing as how you are 42 now I would say take the lump itself. when menopause starts you are going to want to have all hormones you have to stave it off. you take one ovary you have half your hormomes. I would only take the hysterectomy if the doctors thought the lump could come back and create more problems.

I'm sorry you went through that. I too still have issues with my bladder, scar tissue, pelvic pain and I am pretty sure that the endo has returned/more cysts are developing 4 yrs post-op. t want to go through a surgical procedure and then end up having to have a hysterectomy in the long run. Naturally, I also don't want to have a hysterectomy and end up with complications and am really afraid of menopause. Any advise you might have would be greatly appreciated.

I am unaware of legal right outside of the USA, You should as the patient have the right to request a hysterectomy after you have had a long and informed conversation with your doctor. I understand what its like living with severe pain daily that was ultimatley my decision for a hysterectomy plus my uterus was very enlarged,You may have a ovarian cyst.

It does sound like it would be the best solution. I can see what the doctor means. If they leave the ovaries, at least you wouldn't experience surgical menopause, which can be a bit brutal. But you would say goodbye to your womb. How do you feel about that? It might be a good idea, for the sake of your general health. In regards to a hysterectomy, having HPV or dysplasia does not necessarily mean that a future hysterectomy will be likely. As I mentioned above, for most (90-95%) women a LEEP or cone biopsy can be completely curative, if there is a recurrence it can still be treated with another LEEP, cone biopsy or possibly laser or cyrotherapy, etc. - even with early stage cervical cancer (stage 1A, 1B) women can sometimes choose a trachelectomy over a hysterectomy.

ve gotten some REALLY good advice regarding the hysterectomy. To undergo a completely unnecessary surgical procedure simply for birth control is far too radical. Since you are in very good health, have had NO problems with the Mirena and it's obviously working, why fix what isn't broken? Why take ANY unnecessary risks with a surgical procedure? My advice is have a new device fitted and let nature takes it's course!

Do you know if you had both ovaries removed? Total abdominal hysterectomy does not mean you had both of your ovaries removed. As long as you have one ovary and under the age of 47.5 you are less likely to be experiencing symptoms associated with low estrogen. In the event that you have had both ovaries removed, hormone replacement is not warranted for treatment of knee pain. Consider seeing a rheumatologist being that you have been seen by an orthopedist.
