m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!

I just went to the Doctor yesterday and confirmed via swab that I still have yeast. I still have rawness in 1 spot/ some anal itching. I've used 14 days clotrimazole, 4 doses diflucan, and now 7 days terazol. The doctor told me to do 1 more dose terazol and diflucan once a week. I don't think this will solve anything. I'm sure as soon as i stop the terazol it will come right back. BTW, I use student health services and although she is an MD, she is not a gyno. Any advice?

My urologist prescribed 150mg tablets of Diflucan. The first week (last week) I took two of these pills. This seemed to help, the last three days I have had no burning during my morning urine. I still have the itching after ejaculation, but the itching is no longer as intense. I saw my urologist again today to report my progress, and he prescribed 2 more of the Diflucan pills for this week. This should clear it up entirely, he believes. My problem is this.

how long does it take to "kick in"? Is it one of the 10+ days meds or does it have immediate effects? Just wondering b/c I'm not sure I'm taking this stuff right. Not until recently HAVE i had discomfort and itching to the extnt where i realized it was a problem. ASSUMING IT WAS A YEAST INFECTION i took a diflucan It didnt work. i went to the doctor and she said i did the right thing ebecause "it looks like theres some yeast in there". I took 3 more diflucan pills !!!!! then i took monistat 3 ovule!!!!!! and right now im suffering with swelling in the vulva. Not all day but for hours of the day at a time there is discomfort.

If you tested at 2 days after sex, yes, it was too early to be conclusive. How long has it been now? When did you take the diflucan? That can take up to a week or so to fully work. Don't do any more self-treatments or take any other medications unless you get tested first. You could have bacterial vaginosis and self-treating with diflucan could make it worse. Rubbing a penis on a vulva isn't unusual, though I understand why that's concerning given your symptoms now.

I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work?
