biaxin

Avatar f tn I have or had a bacterial infection in my stomach (gastritus) according to my endoscopy recently taken, along with a couple of small ulcers " My Dr prescribed 500 ml of flagyl and 500 ml of biaxin to be taken twice daily for 14 days I did not complete the treatment " the side effects were to extreme I did it for 11 days ..and stopped ...My question 'was " were those side effects common? Your answer is gratly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Give it about a 7-10 days for the side effects to wear off. If you experience more side effects, especially life threatning, you will need to seek medical attention asap. Remember, always read about a medication prior to taking it or ask your physician and/or the pharmacy about the medication.
Avatar f tn I was on it for a year with no side effects at all.
4939681 tn?1361299299 I couldn't say if I am "as bad off" as you were or not. What I can say is that for me when I herx on abx I expect certain symptoms to get overwhelmingly worse. That I will and have pushed through to get better. However adding a series of very unfortunate new side effects on top of how "bad" I already feel seems nonsensical when the abx that is causing these new symptoms has a family of other abx that I could try instead (with hopefully less horrific side effects).
Avatar n tn I have done some research and have found nothing good about this drug. She has all side effects. She is on day 1 with NO geodon.
Avatar f tn Since I have gone back on Biaxin and Tindamax in the last week, I seem to hit a wall around 3pm and I can't keep my eyes open. I have taken an afternoon nap about 4 days out of 7. I am a terrible napper and rarely ever nap, even when I was at my sickest with Lyme. I guess it could be herxing from the meds, but I haven't had this in the past. I am wondering if these two drugs are particularly targeting cysts and spiros in my brain.
Avatar f tn I agree with the above, Doxy is more effective in the early stages of the disease. I, personally do not see how Doxycycline could produce much of a herx. Maybe in combination with a cyst buster, such as Flagyl. But not in that particular combination. I could be wrong, but I just don't see how. You weren't really specific in the worsening of your symptoms. Getting worse does not always indicate a herxheimer reaction!
4939681 tn?1361299299 You're welcome! I haven't taken either of the above, but I know that warnings of permanent side effects from antibiotics and parasitic medications aren't always made well known, so I thought the post was extremely helpful to any of those suggested to take these meds. I, myself, have been experiencing horrible muscle spasms since my 2 day stint with Biaxin.
4451049 tn?1387153437 I could be looking at rare side effects, and wala.. I get more of the rare side effects than the common ones, I think... I don't like to pester the doctor all of the time, especially with these "rare" side effects.. I don't mind dealing with side effects as long as they are not permanent! There are some medications that can cause permanent damage, to the eye for example..
Avatar m tn It could be acid reflux. Then again, it could be your tonsils. Are you taking the medications exactly as prescribed? Also are you controlling your diet, eating foods that wouldn't make the condition flair? Have you raised the head of your bed about six inches so you are sleeping on an incline? Do you smoke or drink? Hopefully, you aren't eating anything within three hours of laying down, and I trust you are hydrating yourself with water.
Avatar m tn t see the urination/constipation problem on the warnings/ side effects/ overdose section of the Benadryl box. Thanks so much for the insight it's really helped. I'll keep you posted.
Avatar m tn My dog (shepherd/husky mix, 73 pounds, 12 years old) began to have grand mal seizures last week. He had two seizures, one on Sunday and one on Monday, at almost exactly the same time in the evening. After the second seizure, the vet put him on phenobarbital (97 mg/2x per day). He's been on it for five days now and is still pretty out of it. He is extremely lethargic (sleeps most of the day), has coordination problems, and weakness in his hind end. He walks veeery slowly.

Avatar f tn does keep me away from any of those that are known to have those side effects, so it must be the formula in how the drug is made.
