I was never that dilated needle labor! My cervix was a hundred percent thinned for about a week but I got stuck at a two until they started me on pitocen.

I lost my plug a few hours ago but I have had strong contractions since last night (some of which woke me up). Can you go into labor before loosing plug? Or how long after do you typically begin labor? Im 35w2d & ready to see my lil guy but scared im gonna have him too soon. Or that ill have to have an emergency c-section with him also.

I lost part of my mucus plug about 2am on Christmas morning. There was also a bit of blood in it. Now I have been going to the bathroom probably 3 times a day. So I'm guessing that's my body "cleaning" itself out? The doctor told me I can go into labor as early as the 5th of this month and they won't stop my labor. On the 5th I will be 35 weeks. How long does your body usually "clean" itself before labor starts?

My question is how long were, or have, some of you been dialted at 1cm before dialating any more or before labor started?

From my first contraction (I never felt one before that) to delivering I was in labor for 14 hours. I had 2 contractions in one hour and the next hour my water broke. I was only at the hospital for 12 hours though.

I have no idea if im dilated as we dont check here intill active labor. How long after your waters broke did you have your baby??

I am 31 weeks and found out I am 3 cms dilated and have lost some of my mucous plug. So what I am wondering is how long before labor starts can you be dilated? I never thought to ask when I was the doctor as I was kinda surprised.

how long were you FTM in labor? Everyone tells me the first takes a long time. I live an hour away from the hospital and I don't want to go right away. I want to stay home as long as I can. But all I can think about is my neighbor who had her baby in the car while they were on their way to the hospital.

I walked around 2 1/2 wks at 3 cm with my first and water breaking was the first sign of Labour. But with my others I started contracting before water broke. It can go either way. No one can tell you for sure. You could go into Labour tomorrow or in a few weeks. Good luck.

To tell you the truth labor feels like you have to poo very bad... i know that sounds very nasty i thought so too but it does mixed with period cramps.

She ended up needing to be induced because nothing progressed BUT I believe normally its anywhere from a week to 2 weeks before most women go into labor. If you just started I would call your doctor so they can check you soon. Good luck!

Yeah totally can be the real thing, so I'm sitting here everyone in bed thinking hmmm couple squats won't hurt lol too bad my feet are so swollen!!! Bee sting itchy swollen painful feet... But tested several times and no preeclampsia.... Which is what I had with my first.

At this stage, baby still is premature, anything before 37 weeks (even if the baby is measuring bigger). If you get regular contractions or lots of symptoms of labor, you need to see your doctor, every week counts, and I've seen many babies have breathing issues born before, even some after 37 weeks.

If you plan on getting an epidural it may be easier on you just know doing a natural birth with pitocin is very hard. It can be done but it will harder on you than a normal labor your body would have started. Good luck you.

I'm FTM 40+3 and just had bloody show, how long more did you have to wait before contractions/ Labour began, or before you saw your little one. I know it can take days but just interested to know peoples experiences. I'm booked for induction on Friday but hoping now I'll go naturally before then.

Early in the morning I will be getting my membranes stripped, and I'm curious to hear stories about how it went for those who have had it done before. I'm hoping to hear how it went, especially if you were already dilated/contracting before the sweep, I've mostly only heard stories of no success but they didn't have any dilation, and hadn't even felt a contraction. So I'm hopeful! 1) How many weeks were you? 2) How dilated/effaced were you?
