Avatar f tn If you cant drive call 911 or even a friend to drive you. As to how long you live not even a doctor can give you a true anwser to that but i can tell you this My grandmother had skeletal cancer in her entire body. at first they keep giving her only moths and she lived for years after being dianosed and told she didnt have much more time. She didnt ever give up and you cant ethier you must fight.
Avatar f tn The competition does sell versions of it (Remicade and Humira) but those are just as costly. Humira actually would cost me more. I was hoping there was a different class of medications outside those 3 that can do the same job for much less.. Thank you for replying.
Avatar f tn re going to have quite a bit of pain for awhile until you get used to the lower doses. How long before you can get your Humira? What is the Insurance Company telling you as to why they won't OK the Humira? Yes you should call the Doctor tomorrow!! Tell him that you don't have your Humira and with NO BT meds you are in AGONY. I don't know if it will help at all but you need to try something!! PLEASE keep us updated...
Avatar f tn I have had two shots of Humira, I constantly have sinus issues, pain pressure, teeth hurt and hedaches. I got them on enbrel and after 9 years it quit working, so tired remicade but after 4 infusions I had such a bad insus probelm I quit it also raised my blood pressrue a lot. I don't seem to be able to handle hard core antibidoics so I can take zpack, and it helps, but I always seem to be back on it alteast every two months.
Avatar m tn I am having a hard time getting information. I have Chron's disease and had sugery August 2nd 2011 for small intestine obstruction. 10 days post surgery I was back in surgery with a massive inflammation blockage. This is first time something like that has happened to me since I had 3 prior surgeries. The only difference is that I am taking Humira for past 5 months and was told not to take the injection before surgery.
447130 tn?1225470866 I just went back on Abilify since Geodon sent me into another world. I took it before and it worked but I gained weight so they took me off. I can't remember how long it was before it started to make a dent in my BP. I've been manic and this is the 1st time this has happened. Maybe it was the meds? I'm scared because I'm technically not medicated until the Abilify kicks in. Anyone know from experience?
Avatar f tn I was so scared about getting pregnant while I was on those medication that I would have terminated the pregnancy long before the 6 month mark. Most people with this chronic illness worry about the genetic factors. I would worry about the the effect of the medications that I am taking on my child rather than the genetic factors when/if medication is continued during pregnancy. But, that is my opinion. My opinion doesn't mean I'm right by any means.
158939 tn?1274915197 I've just had my 2nd injection of Humira today (on 20mg, 2x month). Both times I've had no energy and felt bad for about 12 hours after the injection. Anyone else have this type of reaction to the injection?
1326907 tn?1274923270 Well, narcotics work wonderfully for the pain, however you can't live life being on narcotics all the time. How would you work/drive/care for your children if your head is clouded by narcotics? I was like you - I had awful pain, started Humira and within a few months felt completely better. I am still on Humira and haven't had any flare ups (fingers crossed so that I don't jinx it) for two years.
Avatar f tn im looking for any information on Humira,im having tests next week to see if im suitable, the doctor at the hospital said they have had good results,in patients with Crohns, but id really like to hear from real people who have tried it,any info good or bad will be appreciated, thanks
Avatar f tn I have had flu like symptoms from Humira before. One thing that helps me is I make sure I drink A LOT of water the day before and leading up to injection.
Avatar m tn I took one 40mg dose of Humira two to three weeks before exposure. 1.Will that one dose of Humira affect or prolong the production of Hiv antibodies or p24 antigen. 2. I've been having symptoms since week 2 and have gotten worse since. It started with a rash on my torso. some of the rashes looked like purple streaks and some looked like pink spots. they weren't that many and they didn't stay long. they would appear and go away in a couple of days.
Avatar m tn and they both apologized as they saw how much pain that entire floor goes through and how we have ZERO control over anything...I think one of them was happy to transfer back to the ER, but the other one still works there and she now is one of the better nurses there...it's all about finding your spot in life right?? :) GET THEM TO FIX YOU...Just because one person is clueless doesn't mean that they can't learn or that you have to suffer for it.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Crohn's 9 years ago. I have been taking Asacol (5-ASA) and Imuran (Azathioprine). Last february I was hospitalized for the first time and was put on prednisone. I am still on prednisone and my body won't let me get off of it. My doctor wants me to start Humira, but I am scared. I don't like reading about the side effects and things that can happen when on that drug. Does anyone have any experience with this drug (Humira)? I would really appreciate it.
Avatar f tn As you well know Humira is an immuno-suppressive drug , which mainly inhibits TNF (tumor necrosis factor). There's a growing amount of evidence of the development of Autoimmune conditions, related to TNF inhibitors, such as Remicade, Humira and other biologics.
1115182 tn?1258760246 I have had Crohn's for 40 yrs; 30 yrs on steroids, 10 on methotrexate. Originally oral, 25 mg a week, but last 4 yrs weekly injections of 25 mg. I had a hemi-colectomy in March 09, with 15 cm of my small and large intestines removed. Unfortunately, I then had a big flare in late September requiring 2 weeks again in hospital. I was put on remicade: gastro said I would have only 3 infusions: 0, 2 weeks, 6 weeks, but still had faecal incontinence and failure to put on weight.
