How does laser removal work

Common Questions and Answers about How does laser removal work

Avatar n tn I did laser hair removal about two weeks ago on my lip, toes, and underarm. I love it - I have not shaved my armpits during this time and only have a few thin hairs there. My lip is a little better but they said the lip is hard to treat and can require a few treatments. I used Hair Today Gone Tomorrow and they were pretty affordable. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn My husband had laser hair removal about two weeks ago to his beard. He developed folliculitis. The folliculitis is now cleared up and the hair on his beard is very patchy. The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. Also, this was the first treatment. Will hair grow back in these spots that have no hair.
Avatar n tn even my hubbie, he has never said anything to me about it but when we are getting it on I have to be very carfeul not to let him touch my face.. So enough is enough I am ready for laser hair removal. Does anyone know how much it might cost to have this done and how often do you have to go in for the "treatment"?
Avatar f tn will it work for laser birthmark ? does the laser works for birthmark ?? Does birthmark go away forever ?? Will birthmark come back ?? Tell me more Where to find Dr in Greensboro, NC ? Plus, I want Dr Who does put relax pills or anesthesia, etc. let me know asap.
Avatar f tn I am a 35 year old caucasian woman. I had laser hair removal done with the final session in May 2010. I avoided the sun last summer due to the fact that I was on a topical cream to treat a mild case of perioral dermatitis. I have had significant sun exposure this year, and have developed a clearly defined area of dark pigmentation on my upperlip. It basically looks like a hairless mustache. There is no other blotchiness on my face at all.
Avatar n tn these hairs are very faint, and I've never touched most of them before. Just in case the laser treatment doesn't fully work, will this cause these areas to become... gross? Meaning darker and thicker hair growing, bumps, and dryness. I do not want to make my hair situation worse! Thank you for your time and advice.
Avatar n tn yes i have shown it to many a dermatologists. But for getting laser done i have to go to another city as mine does not have such clinics. So can you confirm any laser which acts that way.
Avatar n tn I can't tell from the few, company-sponsored studies available how well this laser will work for acne and how long the results will last. I am therefore not at all sure how to integrate it into my practice, considering that the procedure is not insured. Lasers can do some nice things, but many are oversold. Time will tell where they will ultimately fit. Best. Dr.
Avatar n tn This subject has been discussed in minute detail. Use the search feature and archives to pull up those discussions. Vitrectomies for "garden variety" floaters (which half of people have by age 50 and 75% by age 70). are not considered usual and routine. Given all the ophthalmologists that practice in the USA and that condemn its routine use 3 is a pretty puny number.
Avatar n tn I have tried using bio-oil for months and the product does not work at all! Will the scars fade and go back to flat in time? Is there any way I can reduce these?
Avatar f tn Though I think counseling can solve the problem alone. Scar removal doesn't always work and is expensive. plus it's a surgery, so there can be complications. I know it can be hard to overcome having a physical difference, "deformity" in a way, but it's totally possible. He can try peels to help lessen the look, but really it's about overcoming what happened, for his own well being. good luck.
Avatar f tn Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also. Please consult a good cosmetologist/dermatologist for that. Laser treatment causes post inflammatory hypopigmentation, hence it is advisable to discuss the pros and cons with your dermatologist before going in for this. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn You get 1 free appointment after surgery then he can bill for the removal and everything that he does during the extraction of the stent. I think this is a crime due to the fact he didn't even see me after the ct scan. he sent in a assistant i had never met before and she was not very knowledgeble about my case. I am very dissapointed and pissed off at the mishandling my doctor has done with me.
Avatar n tn Good Afternoon, I am a 40 year old mother of three and healthy until I had my gallbladder removed (laser) in Dec. 1999. I had some intense pain in my right abdomin and chest area that my doctors said was due to a diseased gallbladder. Although these pains were infrequent, I had the surgery to prevent any further problems. Since then I have had chronic abdominal cramping, burning and diarrhea always 15 to 30 minutes after I eat and many times first thing in the morning.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply My surgeon has been in practice for over 25 years and considered one of the best. Does it make a difference that he has not removed a Restor Lens before. He has removed other lenses though.
Avatar n tn Also used Oil of Wild Oregano, Tea Tree Oil and EmuAID Max Cream – all helped to clear the starter pimple boils, but they did not stop new ones appearing. I have since had 2 underarm laser hair removal sessions as shaving causes many starter pimple boils to appear the day after shaving.

Avatar m tn The urologist told me I was not going to have any more kidney pain after stent removal. I went home and wanted to believe him, so after a couple of hours, the pain increased almost or perhaps more than before. the pain sometimes take a long time to subside and I can relax a bit, but as soon as I urinate, the pain comes back worse than last time before.
Avatar m tn i had a laser lithrotripsy surgery last thursday 4/22 and had the stent removed monday 4/26. after it was removed i had random back spasms and STILL pain when urinating, yesterday i began having unbarable pain about 2 minutes after urinating in my bladder area and it lasts up to 2 this normal...
Avatar n tn While I'm at it, I'll remove as many of the others as possible. How does it work? Will a dermatologist schedule time with me and use their laser or electric needle to remove as many as they can during that time? How many should I expect to have removed if I schedule, say, an hour? And how much will it cost? I know prices probably vary widely, but I have no idea whether to expect $50 or $500 or $5000. Can someone give me a ballpark estimate? (based on your own experience, perhaps?
Avatar n tn I am 41 with a strong family history of cancer. My mother had breast AND kidney cancer, and I recently lost my father to metastatic colorectal cancer. That being said, after having pain in the area of my left ovary, an ultasound found that I have "something" growing on my left ovary. A repeat ultrasound showed that it is growing, and I was giving the choice to leave it and "watch it" or have it removed. I did have a CA-125 blood test, which was "normal".
162948 tn?1205256292 I am just curious how long it took you to conceive after Mirena IUD removal? How long until your menstrual cylces were regular? I got my IUD out on Aug 5th and am ttc. I have had lots of spotting and maybe a period but nothing regular. I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn after looking up various other removal procedures (such as laser) and decided to pay them a visit. The Colorectal health centre accepted my insurance (HMO) otherwise banding would be $600 per visit...first my Dr asked what problem was and I told her. She used a instrument that is like the anal speculum to look inside my anal cavity and saw that I had 3 interior hemorrhoids. I had my banding that first visit. It was painless, a lil uncomfortable but quick.
Avatar n tn I think you should take it easy the first week and then see how you feel but make sure you see the doctor before you return to work. It's now 3 weeks post-op and I'm at about 85%. The most important healing is internal so you need to ensure you don't do something that will cause the healing to be impeded. hayls1985-You will be sore for awhile. My cyst was thought to be the size of a softball but turned out to be be larger.

Avatar n tn Hi Does anyone know of a doctor in the Clearwater Florida area that does the B12 shot and supplements with the pills. I keep hearing how great they work together. The only doctors I find want an arm and a leg for the shots and pills. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Usually people are able to clear symptoms within 24 months but there are exceptions with HPV. Because it isn't really know how it work or why one person will have different experiences than another it is sometimes a trail and error with treatment. The only way to determine if you should continue the path you are on with treatment or start something new is with a docs help. Do google immune system and diet. Do anything you can to help your body to recover.
Avatar f tn So what you can ask is this 1) Ask for a copy of your surgery report just for you to keep on file 2) Did he do excision or laser 3) What stage was the disease and what part of the body was effected the most 4) How long does he suggest you to stay on Lupron? 6 months is max before you can get osteoarthritis. Some doctors have their patients on it for years which is dangerous 5) Will you get add back medication when taking the lupron so you dont get the menopausal symptoms?
Avatar f tn I am a female who had a kidney stone removed by laser and a kidney stent put in about 2 1/2 wks ago. My life has been a nightmare ever since. My doctor has been totally useless. I was never told how painful the stent would be. I thought the stone would be removed and all would be fine. Wrong. When I was discharged from the hospital nobody gave me any info on what to except so I thought something was terribly wrong from the severe pain ect... I had the stent removed 3 days ago.
