I AM TAKING HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 25MG. I HAVE BEEN TAKEN THEM FOR 3 YRS NOW. THIS MEDICATION JUST STOP WORKING. MY DOCTOR WANTS TO ADD ANOTHER MEDICATION FOR ME TO TAKE. DOES THIS EVER GET BETTER. STAYS THE SAME OR DO THE MEDICATION YOU ARE TAKE ALWAYS GET ADJUSTED. UNTIL YOU ARE TAKEN 10 DIFFERENT MEDICATION. My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?

I take 10mg of norvasc twice a day, along with a 100mg of topral xl twice a day, and 300/320 of valturna, just recently the cattapress was increase to 3 initally it seemed to work - was on the hydrochlorothiazide but it was causing my heart to pause, so they stopped it, not sure why the spirolactone except maybe that I have trouble maintaning potassium levels.

Does any one know what blood pressure medication doesn't make your potassium level drop? I'm taking hydrochlorothiazide and everytime I get diarrhea I end up in the hospital because of a low potassium level.

I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.

She is also on risperdol, remeron, xanax. She is extremely fatigued. How would one taper the atenolol dose and how safe is it. Her blood presure yesterday was 102/48 which is too low.

he had me take 25 mg once per day for three weeks and then for 4 days take .5 of the 25 mg tablet once per day. I took my last dose yesterday. Does this sound correct? What effect will this have on my feeling if any? Is it ok to continue to work out cardio ?

Hi jenbjb, how are keeping? Hope your husband is feeling better? Is he still continuing the abdominal exercises? Has he consulted a doctor to and got physically examined? Following surgery the muscle is weak and under undue increase in abdominal pressure, it gives way. He needs to consult a physical therapist to work out on strengthening the muscles and avoid excessive straining too much. Do not lift excessive weight or frequent use of stairs.

t anything else that does what HCT does. However, Curmudgen makes a good point, do you really need a diuretic? You could always go to an ARB such as Benicar. You are currently taking 2 calcium channel blockers, perhaps ask about a trail of an ARB without the HCT and see what kind of results you get.

I am so confused because I have too many issues that can cause the same symptoms. Recently, my doctor switched me from Valsartan HCTZ to Hydrochlorothiazide plus regular Valsartan for my blood pressure. When I first started it, right away I was having rapid heart beat and shortness of breath so he told me take potassium supplements. That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium.

I have been taking Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide (HTCZ) for high blood pressure since May 2007. Recently I have a feeling that the Hydrochlorothiazide is not working as it used to be. I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension? Thanks.

Just a thought, but your heart rate does look flat across the board like it has hit some kind of ceiling level and so the arteries are doing all the compensating. Does your heart rate ever exceed 149? Squash is a very energetic game and doing similar exertion my heart rate would be going up and down between 120 and 180. It was never just one level.

I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work? I thought it was just some kind of medicine they gave you through an IV but a friend said something about them sticking a needle up there. Im a little freaked out, could someone please explain it to me?
