I think you are right about how cat/dog allergies manifest themselves. But you can have COPD and be asthmatic too. COPD is considered to be a combination of emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma.

Food allergies usually manifest around the face and ears. Flea allergies will appear at the hind end where they seek warmth. Either way sounds like kitty is miserable. Also, most important :: You have a little child to protect and some skin conditions like ringworm, are highly contagious and everyone must stay out of contact with these sores. Well as some of you know my cat Abby is extremely attached to me and sleeps with us in the bed. Abby cannot stand to be away from me and we know why. We have been through a lot with him so he is very needy and co-dependent. Hi everyone. I have a cat named Loco. He is an indoor/outdoor cat. He's about 3 years old. He's never had any health problems before. Lately, I think he's been very itchy. I THINK that's what it is. He'll be laying down, as he always does, then out of nowhere he'll start licking himself pretty violently. He then runs crazily aroud the house, licking himself. It's so bad, he jumps onto tables and knocks everything down.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

Its been said that kids who grow up with pets are less likely to develop allergies to them ...now idk how accurate that is but we got pets when my first was like 2 months old and have had them ever since and she's just fine...

i do have a cyst in my left tempral of the frotlob. and i did had 3 sinuse sergries and cat scans and mris. i will talk to specilis/allergist and i will keep you posted.

Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.

Greetings! My name is Tom and I suffer from severe non- food related allergies. Although they can be controlled, I find that my allergic reaction to dogs is so strong that drugs have little effect. The obvious solution is to take immunotherapy (allergy shots). However, when I contacted my allergist's secretary she said that they do no have one. I would like to rebut her claim, but in order to do so I need proof that this exists.

Now if you cat has the herpes virus and this URI is one of the symptoms, your older cat can catch it from her. Although if they have been together for sometime they are both immune or both infected already. Theses URI will happen several times a year.

It is very well due to the compromised immune system AND allergies, allergies with people will manifest themselves with sneezing,watering eyes...respiratory problems etc...BUT with cats the allergies show up as skin conditions.... We can go into tons of info together, I will help you all I can. First of all the food she is on is an EXCELLENT food, however is it CHICKEN/turkey?? for some reason some cats are highly allergic to poultry....
