coffee

Avatar f tn I also read that it takes longer for the caffeine to get out your system .. What can coffee cause your baby to have ? Or any health issues ?
Avatar f tn It sounds like you're having digestion problems. The most problematic of the foods you mention generally are first, the milk, second, the sugar, and third the coffee. But it's hard to say since diet is very complicated, and you don't say how soon after eating you laid down. Chamomile is a good stomach relaxant and anti-inflammatory, perhaps try some of that instead of the coffee, milk, and sugar and see how you do, assuming you don't need the coffee to stay awake.
755829 tn?1246919225 I recommend cutting out all coffee. But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice.

1450627 tn?1296616593 This means ONE cup of coffee not a venti from Starbucks or extra large coffee but one cup of coffee. But if you look at the nutrition guide on coffee black coffee is approx 200mg per cup but the espresso drinks are less than that! :). Yes spoken like a true caffeine addict lol. Bc we are past our first trimester caffeine isn't as much as a worry for miscarriage the concern is that it depletes your body of calcium which baby is already doing.

Avatar f tn Avoiding caffeine as much as possible is your safest course of action. If you must get your fix, it is best to discuss this with your health care provider to make the healthiest choice for you and your baby.
Avatar f tn It is great that you are looking out for your own health and the baby. There are different studies about coffee drinking while pregnant. It is still recommended not to drink caffeine drinks: coffee, teas, sodas (Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew to name a few). Decaf drinks do have a minimal amount of caffeine, however, they are safer to drink. Suggest increasing your consummation of water, which is a healthy benefit. Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn I do smoke cigarettes and have coffee every day, which may also increase these side effects. 579258 tn?1250649343 Just curious as to what you think about artificial sweeteners. Do you use them? What is your favorite choice? Have you found something more natural you feel is better?
Avatar m tn s a balance -- if what you accomplish on drugs, including caffeine-laced coffee, is more important than your health, and it may well be, then fine with me. As for my experience, I don't drink coffee, never have, because I never liked it, but my information comes from 18 years in the natural foods and supplements industry where I read a lot about theories of medicine. Caffeine, as with all drugs, is just too far off the balance for regular use, but if you like it that's fine with me.

Avatar f tn so I've done research on caffeine intake including sugar. And thru the research I found, it said that its better to go without it but if I can't avoid it should at least be in moderatsy. How much is moderatsy and would it still harm the baby and give him ADHD? My boyfriend says that I've been having to much. Like a mug full or more in a day and then not having it for 2 weeks or more. The research I looked up said a mug full a day is fine which is 100mg or 200.
Avatar f tn I see in the articles where coffee supports liver function in cirrhosis as well as possibly attaining SVR whilst treating Hepatitis C but seemed to overlook the article where coffee eases the side effects (while treating the virus) Do you happen to have the link for the article about how coffee eases the side effects I'm just curious if it is coffee per se or perhaps other caffeinated beverages such as green tea (or whatever) would apply.
