Avatar n tn i was a nanny for a professional horse trainer...HER doctor said she could ride until 36 weeks....but not after....it all depends on what your dr thinks, and how far along you are.....
Avatar f tn I have a horse myself and I went riding on her and I'm 20weeks pregnant. I trust my horse, so I say it's fine if you trust the horse and are just riding casually.
Avatar f tn I was out riding today, and things got a little rough (horse stumbled but regained herself) I have a pain from my tail bone forward... nothing major just a little ache. I'm 17 weeks. I have been watching myself and i have had NO internal/abdominal pains, and have had no spotting. Throughout my pregnancy I had a sore lower back as that's currently where the little one resides. Is this an ache I should go to my Dr about? I am a first time mom and this is my first pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Walking your horse should be fine but I would check with your doc before riding, this is my second pregnancy and one of the first things my doc has said both times is no horseback riding
6710217 tn?1386110892 Instead of bouncing on a yoga ball can you just go horse back riding? Not like running or galloping but just going on a walk cuz its a bumpy ride...
Avatar n tn Has anyone else gone horse back riding or asked Dr if it's ok durring pregnancy? I'm currently 19 weeks 5 days. Second pregnancy. I didn't ride with my first pregnancy.
Avatar n tn Any other moms ride horses or barrel race??? When did you stop racing when did you stop riding all together? Went for a ride today and I found I'm kinda nervous when the horse makes an expected move I'd normally just react and make the horse do what I want but now that I know I'm pregnant every bad thing that can happen runs through my head and makes me nervous while doing something I love....
Avatar f tn My doctor said I could until 36 weeks BUT WHEN I was pregnant with my last I was hard headed I was 33 weeks I talked my bf into taking me riding on a horse u could sit a baby on and she would be so easy well needless to say while we were riding she bellied down with me on her and I fell .
Avatar f tn I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant. I've known for 2 weeks and have still been riding my horse. I've read horror stories about women riding pregnant but also read about women who rode up to 8 months pregnant. Anyone have experience with riding while pregnant? Any complications? I'm not concerned with being kicked or anything like that, I know my horse, just concerned with the act of riding.
Avatar f tn I love riding my husband got me a horse as a wedding gift, an she was kept at his grandparents ranch, after baby #2 his grandfather got very sick and couldn't take care of the ranch and we had to sell our horses and most cows, my heart was broken, i cried a lot, so my husband found us another hobby, atv riding, not the same but still fun, im guessing you know people who own horses, why not ask them if you can come over and ride a more gentle horse, or if you are willing buy or trade one of y
Avatar f tn So.. I do horseback riding about 1-2 times a week, but I'm not sure og hos much training it is.. And how many calories do I burn?
Avatar f tn I was very busy with school, friends,, etc, and even went away to college. All that would not have been fair to a horse that I had purchased. Maybe in a few years when you turn 16, you will know better if ownership would be right for you or not. Good luck!
7930748 tn?1395500860 ve had the horse a lifetime but you just cannot predict anything when it comes to riding. Riding is considered a risk sport anyway. It's upto you.
Avatar n tn Not safe anymore, sorry! I love horse riding too and we'll just have to put it aside for some months now!
Avatar f tn I grew up doing a lot of horseback riding and had lessons in English hunter-jumper, Western pleasure, and on my own horses I did a lot of bareback riding. English hunter-jumper is my favorite riding style. I hope I can get another horse someday...I know my son is just as horse-crazy as I am and he'd love to learn to ride, and I would be beyond thrilled to teach him! As for team sports--baseball. I love that game!
1738713 tn?1310759782 Taking a hot shower, being in a steamy room, when I am riding my horse (even when its winter I overheat and end up wearing a tank top but still feel soooo hot!) so the list is endless. Heat seriously gets me. I got tested for hyperthyroidism, and unfortunately looks like my thyroid levels are perfectly normal. When I am riding my horse (no matter what the weather is, so exercising I guess.) I start to feel terrible when I'm overheated. I will explain.. My ankles start to feel very odd.
Avatar n tn I was riding several weeks into my third trimester and my daughter is perfectly fine. With my first I rode up to about 6 months and that daughter is also fine. Of course, I never fell off while pregnant. The riding itself will not hurt you or your baby; it's the sudden shock of hitting the ground that can cause problems. Horseback riding always has inherent risks. But "tourist" horses you are likely to encounter on vacation are about as safe as it gets.
8379527 tn?1397863810 m nine weeks pregnant and had my first ultra sound every thing was great baby is perfect , I asked my doctor about my horse back riding which I do 4-5 times a week up to four hours a day and he told me only to do it as long as I feel comfortable , but then I was reading online that it can cause the placenta to detach just from the jarring movement of your horse trotting , now I'm not quite comfortable getting back on my horse anyone else ride through your pregnancy ??? Any problems ?
1202829 tn?1265514881 Hi Hailey, which is what i am guessing your name is. I've been riding for 8 years, i owned my first horse and he ended up getting insanly ill with lames disease. my parents had to pay for like 15 blood test to make sure they covered everything, and then they had to pay for him to go on 55 pills a day for 2 months. At this time economy issues come crashing down on us, like everybody else.
Avatar f tn What a load of bollocks, surely they could lead you off another horse. Hmmm As I said where I live the MS Society has horse riding for its members.! Susan, thanks for your comments, I think that physio is great, and pain which can arise from MS or Transverse Myelitis can be very difficult to treat.
667078 tn?1316000935 My neuro encourages me to ride and our local riding school has riding classes for the MS group and many of them take part, even if it is just at a walk. It is nice just to get out and do something different, even able bodied people would be feeling very sore if they have not ridden for a while as you use different muscles. I live for my riding and there has been times that I just can't ride but then I brush them and just spend some time out with them in a different way.
Avatar f tn ve never heard of hippotherapy but the movement from horse riding is really good for all the muscles around the hip, lower back and thighs, its kind of like passive exercise. Its also very therapeutic for the mind. If my energy levels hold out, its exactly what I intend to do today.
