Common Questions and Answers about Hormone use

hormone

Avatar n tn estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use. I am very sensitive to any medication and was on the lowest possibly dose of progestrone that time. The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
1936698 tn?1333915193 I'm confused. My doctor has never told me anything about hormone levels and looking out for them or anything. My friend just had a miscarriage last night at 11 weeks, and I feel terrible for her and I just want to cry because she was so excited. Her hormone level went from 73000 to 1200. How do you tell if your hormones dropped and what is so important about them during pregnancy? I'm 31 weeks along and I am so confused about all of it.
441462 tn?1207951214 Vitex (claims to) balance hormone levels. If you don't have hormone problems I wouldn't recommend it, especially because I have read reviews where women with regular cycles had problems like anovulation and irregular mensturation after taking vitex. Even if you do have hormone problems, the best thing to do would be to go to an OB/Gyn or RE and get the tests done so your specific problem could be treated.
973741 tn?1342342773 I think pretty much every woman will get to a place at some point where they wonder if they should try hormone replacement therapy. Mixed information about it. Do you use it and what for? Worries about using it? Let's tlk about it.
Avatar f tn Hello, After hysterectomy, hormone replacement therapy would consist of estrogen alone usually given daily by pill or sometimes weekly or biweekly skin patch. However hormonal replacement therapy should be given for a short time only as long term use may be associated with a small increase in breast cancer. In my opinion you should consult a gynecologist and start with hormone replacemenr therapy.
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar m tn Thanks ginger! I'm not trying to fix anything tho, I'm just trying to support his overall health. Low testosterone is directly related to prostate cancer in us old guys. Its has many physiological benefits. I know from personal experience. Natural testosterone cream reduced my blood sugar, triglyceride and cholesterol levels to a normal range. My depression lifted and my enegry levels increased. When testosterone is converted to DHT and estrogen it can be problematic.
Avatar f tn Would talk to a general endocrinologist about this.
Avatar f tn Well my rpegesterone was 6.4 so yours is low but ok. Yeah 15 is better. But they should have you on prgesterone suppositories! They are better and go staight to the area needed instead of having to go through your system then to you uterus. I have heard alot of RE's who use the suppositories and say they are better. Messier but better. I haven't had to much problems with them. Now for you estridol levels what day were they taken?
Avatar f tn t involve hormones (such as condoms and foam or an IUD), to let your body go back to its normal hormone cycles. Do this for two or three months and see if your cycles regulate, and how you feel. Keep a journal, it will help you see patterns. Then see how you're doing with the symptoms you list.
Avatar f tn 2 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 I had a hysterectomy for a borderline tumor. Because I had my ovaries removed and am young, my oncologist has me on estrogen only replacement. With all the new information in the news now I don't know what to think. The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it.
Avatar f tn On September 29, 2009 I had a complete hystorectomy with a 10lb adnexal mass removed at MD Anderson. An intestinal type cancer of low malignant potential was found. I am waiting to be sceduled for an MRI & Colonoscopy. After my surgery I was prescribed Effexor for my mood swings and hot flashes. The doctor has continued to increase the dosage up to the highest = 150 mg per day. All it has done for me is turn me into a zombie.
873692 tn?1337275733 So if cancer is something you want to avoid at all costs I would go with a non-hormone birth control. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is a copper IUD and I do not personally promote IUDs. There are many risks with them, such as perforating your uterus (OUCH!). I use a natural family planning method and it works for me. I realize not everyone agrees with or feels comfortable with FPM but I'm just throwing it out there.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm definitely going thru perimenopause and even though I'm on Bio Identical Hormone Therapy, I still suffer every month. It seems like nothing ever just goes smoothly. I also have panic attacks. I also think I suffer from mild depression. Even though my panic attacks have subsided greatly in the past few month. (I have been on the hormone therapy for a year now.) I still feel uptight, edgy, moody, no interest in sex, the list goes on and on - all the time.
Avatar n tn HE SAID THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE DUE TO STRESS........HE SAID THAT HE WAS POSITIVE OF THIS AND GAVE ME PROGESTERONE TO TAKE FOR FIVE DAYS........HE WAS RIGHT........EVERYTHING IS BACK ON TRACK AND I WAS CALM AFTER THAT.........WELL, MY DOCTOR WHO DID THE BLOOD WORK AND URINE TEST BEFORE THE OBGYN VISIT AND HORMONES, HAD HER RECEPTIONIST CALL ME AND SAY THAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND THAT THE DR. WAS PRESCRIBING 2 MEDICATIONS FOR ME......
Avatar f tn i have finished 12 days after the transfer and today was the day to see my hcg hormone. I know 5 is the min,but they told me to retest.first time, almost 2 yrs ago, after i did it,it was 0,so today it was really strange to me. Rmmoye:so,did u end up pregnant?
Avatar f tn Because you had a hysterectomy, the usual natural approach is more complex. I'd advise seeing a naturopath. The usual approach would be to use a trial and error approach with the great many herbs and "natural" hormones that are derived from the Mexican Wild Yam that help to balance hormones, but again, since you've had a hysterectomy, you might want to see a naturopath who knows more about what influence that has on the matter.
