Avatar m tn I had a total hysterectomy when I was 34 years old. After my hysterectomy, the doctor started me on estrogen therapy, Premarin 0.9 daily. A few months ago, I recorded an episode of Oprah, the topic was HRT. After watching this episode, I promptly made an appointment with my family doctor to discuss other HRT options. I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .
605458 tn?1539228808 I mean, the goal is always to avoid surgery when surgery can be avoided, but if I cannot get this hormone shot therapy, hysterectomy with salpingo oopherectomy is my other alternative. I am 39. I have never had children and have never wanted to have children and have no desire to have children in the future. While I am a bit attached to my body parts and thing surgery would by not fun, why not just go for it and get done with and not have to worry about the stupid endometriosis again?
Avatar f tn My boyfriend came over to check on me after trying to call me 10 times. After banging on the front door several times he came around to my window, hitting on it with his pocket knife several times before finally waking me up. DON'T THINK I'M TAKING ANYMORE OF THAT STUFF!... I continued to sleep for the rest of the day and night and today I have felt so drugged. My Gynocologist at MDA said they have found that antidepressants work well for hormone replacement.
Avatar m tn Losing libido after hysterectomy is something common for women. I would suggest you to start talking about this with your girlfriend, try to be supportive and to comprehend with her emotions. If you both feel that you need more help I would suggest a vista to someone specialized , maybe a sexologist.

Avatar f tn Is there a link between breast lumps, cysts, cancer due to hormone imbalance since it showed up so soon after my hysterectomy. I do have fibrocysts. Also, is there a program I could get some assistance to get an ultrasound to have it checked out even though there doesn't seem to be anything there anymore.
Avatar m tn When do you know you need hormones after a total hysterectomy? Is there any problems if you do not take hormones after a total hysterectomy (46 years old)?
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy in January of last year due to ovarian cysts and precancerous cells. I am only 29 so my doctor did not think I would have many issues or need to be on hormone therapy. But since then I have gained close to 30 pounds (I have gone from 130 to 160, all or the weight centralized to my stomach- and my breasts have gone from a c cup to an EEE .... ) despite clean eating and exercising regularly.
Avatar n tn t want to start on hormone therapy until I demonstrate signs that I need them. I am 46, and they say that although I was pre-menopausal prior, it is better to wait and see if I "need" the hormone therapy. If we experience uncomfortable hot flashes & other signs of trouble, then they start the therapy. The oncologist also told me something I had never heard before.
Avatar f tn A couple of members here, including myself, watched Robin McGraw yesterday speak about bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Did you know that women as young as their teens can have hormonal imbalances ? And that you can show signs of perimenopause in your 20s... feel horrible and be misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia ? And yet the medical field has failed us again on this other issue.
Avatar m tn I am thinking about having a hysterectomy because of terrible endemetriosis, I am 47 and have a history of breast cancer, so I cannot get any hormone replacement therapy. But i have read that maybe it won't help. Does anyone have any thoughts?
1445110 tn?1388209711 I am afraid and would like an opinion as to what to do. My doctor did recommend stronger hormone therapy for three months and repeat the biopsy. Or, up to me if I want a partial hysterectomy. Thank you for any opinion.
Avatar f tn Have you had the bumps since the hysterectomy and are you on any other hormone therapy besides the Premrin cream? (** If you do go back to your doctor, ask for samples of either the Premrin cream or Estrace cream because I know the cream can be very expensive.) Maybe you are having a reaction to the Premrin cream?? A more complete hormone therapy may be beneficial - it should definitely help with the vaginal dryness.
Avatar m tn For those asking for advice above, the best advice I can give is to go to a knowledgeable Physician re natural hormone replacement therapy. I know many people who are much happier after their hysterectomies because their Doctors are knowledgeable in the field of natural hormonal replacement therapy. People need to remember that sometimes after surgery--any surgery--things just aren't the same.
Avatar n tn FSH is high after menopause and low in the reproductive years. For the most part, it has an inverse relationship to estrogen level. Since you do not have ovaries and do not take estrogen, it makes sense that your FSH is high. I also do not have ovaries but I take estrogen. When my estrogen level gets rather high, my FSH is low (in the range of a menstruating woman). When my estrogen is on the lower side, my FSH rises.
973741 tn?1342342773 I think pretty much every woman will get to a place at some point where they wonder if they should try hormone replacement therapy. Mixed information about it. Do you use it and what for? Worries about using it? Let's tlk about it.
Avatar f tn After my hysterectomy I have no sex drive at all, what can I do? I am affraid of the meds on the market because of all the woman that are getting breast cancer. Is there anything that is safe?
Avatar f tn Have you had your hormone levels checked? you might have hypothyroid...or need bio-identical hormone replacement therapy? Are you having any issues having bm's, urinating? as that could be a problem as well...are you dealing with alot of gas? have you tried simethicon if you are? if will help you pass the gas which might help with the bloat...lots of walking will help with both areas as well...
