Avatar f tn I have been experiencing several uncomfortable symptoms for about 12 years now and I’m wondering what specialist I should see. Here is a list of my symptoms (may or may not be related to one another): Asymmetrical joint pain (shoulders, knees, ankles, wrists, hips…all sporadic) Irritability Increased anxiety/anxiety attacks Increased sweating/blushing I have had two pregnancies over the past three years and have been breastfeeding for over two years.
Avatar m tn I am sorry for your troubles and discomfort. Annie is correct however, you need to see a specialist that can answer your questions and ease your concerns. I'm certain that there are numerous options for you with the right doctor! I wish you the very best, take care ...
Avatar f tn Ok. I have had two miscarriages. The first one they said was because of the chromosomes. I was only seven weeks. The second time- everything seemed to be going fine. I thought I was about 10 weeks and I went to the emergency room and they said I needed to go see my ob. So I did the next day and we figured out that I had a blighted ovum and nothing was developing. Well I just found out two weeks ago I was pregnant. Well- I went to the er because I started having severe cramps and bleeding.
Avatar f tn I agree with naturopath or bioidentical hormone specialist. They can help you thru this time without synthetic drugs.
980017 tn?1248521531 Hello and thank you. I have been struggling to figure out what is wrong with me. My tsh levels are going up and up and up. A year ago my levels were 13 and 2 and a half months ago it was 47 then six weeks ago it was 61 and just a couple of weeks ago it is 68. The big question my doc has is are you taking your meds and I am and have been for 20 years. I know all the rules, no food for an hour after taking, no vitimins with pills. I am currently on 300 mg.
798548 tn?1237503653 Does anyone know of a Chiari Specialist in North Carolina specifically near Rally or Chappel Hill area? My neice may have Chiari and she lives in that area and I am looking for a specialist for her. Please let me know of the closest Chiari Specialist in her area.
Avatar f tn Took new saliva test and went to new hormone specialist. She changed me to cream (bio-identical also) plus added 4 adrenal food supplements. I have taken the same blood pressure med for 17 years and kept my levels normal. After using the hormone cream and adrenal supplements for three weeks, my blood pressure soared. My doctor took me off the supplements, but my blood pressure was still dangerously high. She doubled my present BP med plus added another med before it would come back down.
Avatar f tn My name is Emily, I'm 16, and this will be my first meeting EVER with someone who can help me with this issue! I'm kind of excited, to be honest. Terrified, but excited. This is the closest I've come to knowing exactly what happening with my body. Of course, we probably won't know at the end of this meeting tomorrow, but its a little closer than I've ever been.
Avatar n tn Stress will not raise or lower your blood glucose reading when fasting. If that was your blood glucose when fasting it is slightly elevated. I have severe ptsd and still deal with extreme abuse. It does not change my blood glucose. What stress can affect is insulin resistance, high levels of cortisol from constant stress won't cause it but it can make it worse. If you were insulin resistant for some time it may be what lead to diabetes.

Avatar m tn If you do not conceive soon, you may want to see a fertility specialist or reproductive endocrinologist. Best of luck to you and I hope you are recovered and all is working fine soon!
Avatar f tn (T4 = inactive thyroid hormone, T3 = the active form of thyroid hormone, which has a shorter half-life. The thyroid produces both T4 which gets converted to T3, as well as some T3). These both might be above their normal ranges, especially since you are experiencing hyperthyroidism symptoms. These are the numbers that should change with treatment for hyperthyroidism and help doctors tell whether the medication is working or not. They will want to treat the hyperthyroidism.
Avatar f tn Should I follow the advice of the thyroid specialist and treat for Graves type symptoms or should I perhaps seek out a hormone specialist as it seems maybe there could be another underlying problem? Even the endocinologist found this an unusual case?

Avatar n tn Hi Does anybody have serious AFib onset when they are starting their periods or AFib when they know there are hormone changes in their bodies? My symptoms take me down in heart attack like symptoms and serious fainting spells when it's PMS time. My doctors: Family and Heart Specialist will not listen to this, but I KNOW this is the cause.
Avatar f tn Well, I would say it is time to consult another specialist. Before you do that, HAVE a FEMALE HORMONE PANEL drawn.......it's a basic blood draw BEFORE you walk away from this Specialist and go from there. Did this Specialist check your thyroid? Labs done? If not.....have a TSH, T3 and T4 labs drawn as well. As I stated, if this Specialist is NOT willing to do much more for you then find someone who will. The "second opinion" should be an Endocrinologist.
8186845 tn?1415020547 Anyone ever had to see a specialist due to Hyperechonic bowel on the baby shown on an ultrasound? My daughter, now 5, is special needs due to a duplicated chromosome. The chromosome that is duplicated is supposed to be very rare. Anyone ever have this??

Avatar n tn I would like to be referred to a specialist but do not know who deals with thyroid issues. Could you give me this information so that I could get the effective treatment I need?
574948 tn?1251825767 My doctor is finally sending me to a specialist. My doctor never seems to have any answers when I ask her questions, she just nods her head. I went to see her two days ago and she gave me a z-pack to see if it was an infection in my thyroid. She was wrong, the medicine did not help, at least one of my thyroid levels were ok, and my thyroid is still swollen. There is still pain with it ,too.
Avatar n tn Almost everyone on here talks about how important seeing an MS specialist is. What is the real difference between a general neurologist and an MS specialist? How do you really know if the neuro you are seeing is really an MS specialist or just says that they are? I saw one who had listed on his office's website that he was an MS specialist, but he turned out to be a general neuro who dealt mostly with vasculitis. Thanks:o).
