If they are going to do some testing make sure you insist they include free T3 and free T4 (FT3 and FT4, not total T3 and total T4), along with TSH. TSH is a pituitary
hormone that at best is only an indicator of thyroid status. Far better are the actual, biologically active thyroid hormones, which are FT3 and FT4.
