I am exhausted sleep 10-15 hours daily, i am depressed,irritable and am gaining weight rapidly mostly on my belly and face. My recent labs were hight tsh of 6.7 low but normal freet4. prolactin and cortisol slightly above normal.prolactin was 34. My estrogen is very low at 15. I live in bonaire and the doctor told me come back in one month after you stop birth control pills yasmin.

I've had high prolactin before and as far as I know it is not associated with weight gain. It is associated with breast discharge and decrease in libido. Also, prolactin is made by the pituitary glad, which also secretes other hormones. If there is a general issue with your pituitary, it could be that some other hormone might be causing the weight gain. Do you know if any other hormones are too high or too low?

Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that if your pregnancy tests are negative you aren't pregnant. You may need to have some hormone tests done, such as prolactin levels--because of the nipple discharge. For my understanding high prolactin has nothing to do with being pregnant. Hgc levels are! Prolactin is just an hormone that will peoduce milk on your breast, even male can have high prolactin. Hope this help.

hi. They have confirmed a prolactinoma bout 1cm in size, they say i will be back to normal once the prolactin level decreases. Apparently the high prolactin is the reason i am not ovulating and having menses. They said the spectrum is too wide and that I am on birth control so the results will not come out right.
