I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it. But what about the people who were thrown into surgical menopause at a time their body would still be producing it?
I advise that you read up on bio-identical hormones, they come in may forms such as creames, mist sprays, pills, I personally found the patch to be the best method for me, very easy to use, and I think ( just my opinion) that the patch deliveres the most acurate does, ( except pills) Ive never been convinced mists or creams could be dosed properly.

Or do I just go on estriol cream/patch or estrogel cream....and then figure out if I need t add more, and how do I figure that out - how does one know if she needs progesterin/progestin or testosterone added (either the medical kind or the bio identical kind).
I have a patch of brown skin over my left side of my chest. I think it may be fungus but i'm not 100% sure. It doesnt hurt or anything, and its not thicker or anything either.

Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
It took care of the hot-flashes but caused me to gain 10 pounds in a 6 week period. My doc said the weight gain was from menopause. Well, I took the patch off 2 weeks ago and threw it away, and I have now lost 6 of those pounds and feel much better. I think it was causing depressiont too. I have been on bio-identical hormones for a few years - progesterone cream and DHA cream - and have done fine. I had osteoporosis before the hormone creams but have now reversed it.
hI, my son now 15 underwent treatment and a bone marrow transplant for Neouroblastoma at the age of four. He's been on growth hormone treatment for 3 years now but with no result. He's only 144cm tall and his endocrinologist says there's no hope because his bones have finished growing and the only suggestion is the bone stretching surgery. Can anyone suggest anything else?

With all the stuff in the news lately about HRT and their new findings, I would love to know your opinion. Are these studies only on women who have gone through natural menopause or do they also include women who were put into surgical menopause at a young age?
I'm a 23 year old white male and about a year ago i noticed a small discolored patch of skin on the my right inner thigh on the right side of my pubic bone i guess you could say. It looked sort of like the skin was dry so I didn't think anything of it. Well over this time it has spread over my pubic bone and i think there are spots showing up on my chest right above my sternum. The new ones are only pencil eraser in size but the old ones now look like birth marks.
i was just wondering if there was any possible way i could get rid of them... like is there any products that i could use to get rid of these... i honestly hate having them. i heard selsun blue shampoo works.. but how do you use it??? also if you know of any other cream that could work PLEASE let me know. btw i make sure to apply sunscreen to my face at all times. :) any help or information would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks!
They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you? Did it mean you weren't pregnant? I am being paranoid or should I prepare myself for the worst? I have had IUI twice and this is my first IVF.
There are certain patches whereby the estrogen in the patch is made from products and then synthesized to act bioidentically in the system.

I forgot to add I am 25 yr old female very light skinned and the patch sizes are anywhere from pencil eraser size to dime size. a small cluster has grown and grown together over the past year or so.

I have a white patch/spot on my scrotum. Its been there for a few weeks. I workout and play soccer almost everyday. It started out a little raised but when my exercised toned down that went away, however the white patch/spot is still there.

My daughter, who is soon to be 3 yrs old, has a red itchy patch on the inside elbow joint. She is holding her arm close to her chest and keeping it bent. She is not complaining of pain, but says that it doesn't itch as much when the arm is bent. I have tried creams and lotions, thinking it may just be dry skin. She has had this for 3 days and we are not noticing much change. I don't know what else to do, or if it is worth going to the doctor about. Any advice would be helpful.
s one or a combination of all the products I use, because all in all I use about 5 products at the same time morning and night. I am leaning to think it may be because yesterday and the day before I got stressed from areas where red spotty areas use to be from the toothpaste burn that I constantly used the lots of different products in the space of 15 mins, then went back again.
