Common Questions and Answers about Hormone patch price

hormone

Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
Avatar f tn The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it. But what about the people who were thrown into surgical menopause at a time their body would still be producing it?
718868 tn?1230730029 Does anyone know of any other type of hormone I should ask my physician about, as I am getting very weary of being this age and unable to do very much from my body being so tired and weary. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn I advise that you read up on bio-identical hormones, they come in may forms such as creames, mist sprays, pills, I personally found the patch to be the best method for me, very easy to use, and I think ( just my opinion) that the patch deliveres the most acurate does, ( except pills) Ive never been convinced mists or creams could be dosed properly. Yes deffinatley make an appointment with your Dr.
Avatar m tn Or do I just go on estriol cream/patch or estrogel cream....and then figure out if I need t add more, and how do I figure that out - how does one know if she needs progesterin/progestin or testosterone added (either the medical kind or the bio identical kind).
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
1386676 tn?1280247305 I just find the pain releif from the patches is pathetic about 3 out of 10 considering the nhs pay 15 uk pounds for each 75mcg patch !!! for about the same price £16.50 they cud issue me with 150 10mg I/R morphine tablets every 3 days ffs!!! Not that i wuould ask for that much its just for price comparrison !!! very exspensive way of drug dilivery the patch is in my opinion considering atleast the last 50% of the drug WILL NOT be released from the patch transdermally !!!
Avatar f tn I had a hysterctomy almost 3 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor. My oncologist put me on an estrogen replacement patch and I have been using them ever since. With all the stuff in the news lately about HRT and their new findings, I would love to know your opinion. Are these studies only on women who have gone through natural menopause or do they also include women who were put into surgical menopause at a young age?
1148619 tn?1332010984 My doctor informed me that Incivek (Telaprevir) blokes the hormone Estrogen, yikes, this could get ugly. I use a cream that I apply daily. I made an appointment with ND to see what we can do and start tx in September. Has anyone been experiencing symptoms of lack of Estrogen? It might get difficult to seperate it all. Thanks...............
Avatar f tn They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you? Did it mean you weren't pregnant? I am being paranoid or should I prepare myself for the worst? I have had IUI twice and this is my first IVF.
Avatar f tn I am not aware as I have searched and searched and searched for other options for the patch at a cheaper price but I am looking now again just in case. Just wanted to provide this to you so you could take a look at it and see if it is a viable option for you or not. __________________________________________________________ Zyban also referred to as Wellbutrin, is a prescription medication and you need to consult a physician before taking it.

Avatar f tn HOWEVER those with EDS tend to reject the patch if it is not our own tissue and by rejecting the patch our bodies can over produce CSF in an effort to flush the foreign body out OR we spring a leak.....
Avatar f tn ve had my female organs removed one at a time with a LSH in 2006, left oopheractomy in 2007 and right oopheractomy just two months ago in 2014. I awoke from my last surgery with a patch on and have used it as directed since. I use to get hormonal headaches every other month or so and was able to successfully treat them with one or two prescription pain pills for headaches.
720228 tn?1530911279 I have been on the Ortho Evra patch since Jan. 2012. My patch fell off about two weeks ago and then I started my cycle. After that week I put a new patch. This week on Wednesday my husband said that I should change my patch cause it looks like it might come off but I didn't do it until Thursday because that is my normal day to change the patch. On Friday I was spotting a little bit. I figured that my patch came off or was not on good enough.
82861 tn?1333453911 One of the most common questions that pops up here is from people who have difficulty keeping the fentanyl patch in place. Lost and ruined patches can be a terrible problem for both the patient and the doctor. We all know early refills of any pain medication are problematic no matter what the reason. I have used the Nexcare brand bandages for years as covers for the fentanyl patch. They were the only bandages that kept the patch in place for the full 3 days.
178345 tn?1242536246 wondering if it has to do with the hormone patch??? I am eating well and losing weight (on purpose) so I dont know what is wrong..tomorrow I am seeing my primary MD..Just thought if anyone has any idea...please share..
Avatar n tn My recovery went well, except that my stomach muscles were sore (I had an open bikini cut), but now my incision no longer hurts. My concern is that I have been placed on the estrogen patch since one week after the surgery. I started having headaches, pains under my arms, and my feet started swelling more than usual. The doctor asked me to cut the patch in half, still changing it twice a week.
Avatar n tn or rather used a estrogen patch..Estrogen is available in many foms ,,lotions. body mist,,vaginal pellets,,,I like the patch its small acurate and easy to use...Please use bio identical..Premarin the "old-fashioned " estrogen is actually made from horses urine..Bi-Identical is the closest possible at this time to what your own body would make...I recommend Vivelle..Of corse you must discuss with your doctor what she or he thinks is best or you,,and then YOU decide...
Avatar n tn so im on the ortho evra patch and i accidently misunderstood and took it off too early i took it off monday the 21st and had sex wednesday the 23rd well the condom busted and well yeah well i took plan b one step within 6 hours of it happenein and put my birth control patch on as instructed to do so by my pharmacist guess im just asking how concerned should i be that im pregnant
Avatar f tn I seriously doubt that migranes are related to menopause..they are related to stress so by having stress from hyster, and medically induced menopause it could be said there is a connection. I saw the Ophrah show you speakof and I am 47 have had a medically induced menopause via hysterectomy also...my doctor recomedded bio identical hrt I only take estrogen...its good for bone desity, helps with nerves and anger outbursts I was having also took away hot flashes and insomnia..
Avatar n tn What type of medicine goes on the buttocks on a patch for men?? I dont know what the problem is, but i saw it on a friend and dont want to ask??
Avatar f tn Then go over the edges of the patch with your finger to ensure good contact around the patch. Try to avoid touching the sticky side of the patch with your fingers as this can effect the adhesive properties of the patch. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I am currently on the patch and me and my husband want to have a baby but when I try to take the patch off, I bleed for weeks and weeks. I am not sure if this is normal. Eventually I get fed up with the bleeding so I put another patch on. But what can I do to conceive? Am I doing something wrong? Is the bleeding normal?
