20922415 tn?1661860103 The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings. When you skip a period, it could be because of failure to ovulate and subsequent low progesterone levels.
1936698 tn?1333915193 At 31 weeks your hormone levels are not being looked at anymore. By hormone levels I think you mean HCG. In early pregnancy if a Dr. is trying to tell if you are pregnant or if they are unsure if you are having a miscarriage or not they will look at your HCG levels. These levels should double every 48-72 hours, if they do not it is usually a bad sign. After they can see baby on the Ultrasound and get a strong Heartbeat they will stop taking these HCG levels.
Avatar n tn is it possible that you are further in to your pregnancy than 8 weeks? I ask this because HCG levels during the first trimester will peak sometime around 9 to 12 weeks of pregnancy, at somewhere around 25,700 to 288,000 mIU/ml. By the final weeks of the first trimester week 13 and 14, hCG levels are finally on the decline, and will be at around 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml. From there, hCG levels tend to continue the downward change into the second trimester.
Avatar m tn TSH is a pituitary hormone that mainly stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormone. So TSH does provide some indication of thyroid hormone levels, but TSH is affected by so many things that its value as an indicator of thyroid status is limited to times when it is at extreme values. Your wife's TSH is low enough to indicate that more evaluation is needed. So most importantly, please tell us about any symptoms she is having.
4974520 tn?1366757591 Oh okay well i had to ask the doctor what mine were because when they do test to confim ur pregnancy or for any reason to do with ur pregnancy they get the levels to see how it is progressing..
Avatar m tn The ultrasound indicated that I was only about 4-5 weeks along so they started monitoring my hormone levels. In the 3 separate days of tests the doctors noticed that my levels were not increasing as they should and informed me that I would more than likely miscarry. The bleeding started two hours after the phone call. About 4 weeks later I returned to my doctor to make sure everything was going ok, as ok as these things can...
Avatar f tn Hey, How long does it usually take for the pregnancy hormone to get out of your system after a MC? I called my Ob the other day and she said that as long as I wasn't bleeding then we could start ttc again. So, I was just wondering how long the hormone stays in your system.
Avatar n tn Do keep a close watch on your levels (FT3 and FT4), throughout your pregnancy and keep us posted on how things go for you. Wishing you the best.
797256 tn?1237636468 Hello, I am writing because I have lots of symptoms of PCOS and 5 years ago I went through fertiltiy and found that I have PCOS, but now 5 years later I had my hormone levels taken just by family doctor and they say they are normal but what is normal. Can anyone help me? I don't have periods, I grow hair in places you don't want and more here are the lab results from lab. Estradiol (estrogen) 26 pg/mL FSH 5.0 mIU/mL LH 12.2 mIU/mL These are the ones they have done. What does this mean?
1885931 tn?1371771436 Yeah. Its ur hormone levels. You cant do much about it. Just use dandruff shampoo..
Avatar f tn I have low estrogen levels (102 and they said it should be around 150) and low progesterone levels (11? and they said it should be 15). During these results I was on folistim and then also progesterone pills. I had polyps removed 5 months ago and was told I had polypoid endometrium. Can't find anything on that topic though. What does this mean for my body in general as far as mood/health is concerned and how is my infertility directly related? Been TTC for 3 years...
Avatar f tn The hormone human chorionic gonadotropin(better known as hCG) is produced during pregnancy. It is made by cells that form the placenta, which nourishes the egg after it has been fertilized and becomes attached to the uterine wall. Your doctor might have taken your hcg level...how many weeks are you?? ..hcg level doubles every 72 hours...if it doesnt...there are more chances of miscariage.
461586 tn?1214992260 If you drank a lot during the day then took it at night, then it may not have picked up enough of the pg hormone (because you may not be far along enough to higher hcg levels). A doctor can order a blood test which will show whether your are definitly pg, but it sounds like you are! Good luck with everything!!
Avatar f tn Ok. I have had two miscarriages. The first one they said was because of the chromosomes. I was only seven weeks. The second time- everything seemed to be going fine. I thought I was about 10 weeks and I went to the emergency room and they said I needed to go see my ob. So I did the next day and we figured out that I had a blighted ovum and nothing was developing. Well I just found out two weeks ago I was pregnant. Well- I went to the er because I started having severe cramps and bleeding.
Avatar n tn Immediate intitiation of thyroid hormone (levothyroxine) is necessary at a full replacement dose (usually 2mcg/pound, sometimes more for pregnancy) and recheck levels to confirm it is not a lab error. Would discuss with your OBGYN and consider endocrine consult as well. Sometimes we send women to "high-risk" OB for more thorough evaluation in these cases.
Avatar f tn After complications began just over a week ago i was informed yesterday that my pregnancy hormone levels are slowly dcreesing. This does not rule out an ectopic pregnancy witch is what they belive i may have but as my bub is to young to find on an ultrasound they have no idea whats going on all they know is that my bub is slowly dieing and being absorbed back into my body and that there is nothing they can do to save it.
Avatar f tn Your body needs to pass the baby completely for your levels to start going down again. I'm sorry but it's highly probable that you've might of lost this baby. Your levels should have doubled unless it was ectopic but I'm sure you would have been told.
Avatar f tn ve read of many women who were able to correct or improve their hormone levels and went on to keep the pregnancy. Sounds like your doctor is monitoring everything closely as he should. Mama worry is normal, especially if you have health issues.I think we all have our worries and times during the pregnancy when we seem to worry more than other times. Best of luck and ssbd to you!
Avatar f tn for a pregnancy to considered viable usually the hcg should double or at the mimum rise by 60% during this time frame, there are some variables though, but usually once you see levels starting to fall, a miscarriage is on its way
Avatar n tn If you are pregnant, you will need to call your doctor right away because bleeding during pregnancy is not common and needs to be investigated.
1322149 tn?1274533250 There could be a chance that you are pregnant and that the pregnancy hormone levels are just way to low to register correctly now. With each day of pregnancy, the levels get higher. If we say that you ARE pregnant, it would depend on when the actual conception happened. Like maybe you conceived very close to the day you would be expecting your period, so now only being 12-15 days later, the pregnancy hormone would still maybe not show up in tests. Giving it 2 more weeks to show up is wise...
Avatar f tn ) He ordered more labs to make sure that the hormone levels are where they need to be and asked me to schedule a follow up in a week. After this appointment, I decided to take the pills being that the first labs that were done determined that the hormone level was low. My question is I am almost 14 weeks pregnant and was wondering if these pills can cause harm to the baby? how effective are these pills at preventing miscarriage?
