Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar f tn As I've mentioned in my previous post, I have the strong feeling that I have a hormone imbalance. For 3 years, I've been overemotional/irritable/nervous, have had light/skipped periods, persistent acne,(I'm 20 and I don't feel like this should be happening), and hot flashes. These problems have gotten progressively worse over the years. The problem is though, that I feel like I have the symptoms of both estrogen dominance and estrogen deficiency.
Avatar f tn various professional organizations, states that acne is principally a result of hormone imbalance
Avatar f tn I feel your pain. I just turned 31 in december and I am having the same problem with all over hair growth (seems abnormal). I on the other hand have no idea what the cause or reason for this hair growth all over my body is due to. Most of it is all the fine light colored hair (full face, chest, back, shoulders etc). I had uterine fibroids removed via myomectomy (c section) about a year ago now but about three months after the surgery I went on birth control.

Avatar f tn Are there any safer alternatives to hormone imbalance that do not effect sex drive and cause other related health problems. I am aware that with any medication their could be implications, but I am more prone to prefer more natural methods of solving problems. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Women who have a healthy hormone balance tend to enjoy their lives the most. Hormone fluctuations can result in several problems such as perimenopausal difficulties, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, fibroids, heart disease, breast cancer, and ovarian cysts. Usually, women don’t completely meet what their bodies need—food and exercise to reduce stress and feel better. Diet, nutrition, and workout are some of the common lifestyle changes that can help women restore hormone balance.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I suffered a m/c last month. I was supposed to have been 6 1/2 weeks but scan showed that baby had stopped developing soon after implantation. I bled for 8 days and had mild cramps on day 2. Very smiliar to a heavy period but with clots. HCG level was at 201 when had scan done and dropped to 4 within 10 days. I am desperate to start ttc after I get my normal period which I'm hoping will come next week.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....

Avatar m tn Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC. Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?
Avatar f tn Acne is a sign your body is fighting something internal; be that a hormone imbalance, gut imbalance or nutritional imbalance. I know a quick fix is what you dream of; to wake up with at least no new blemishes would be a blessing. But until you identify the root cause it remain a dream; there will be at least one fundamental reason; either diet, cosmetics/hair products, vitamin/mineral deficiency, food intolerance, hormone imbalance or a number of the aforementioned.
Avatar f tn As far as acne, I can tell you that my daughter was suffering from acne due to hormonal imbalance and she had clearlight treatments which completely cured her acne. I imagine that this treatment has not been widely accepted because it really works and then the acne indurstry looses money, but I witnessed it and it worked. However, if you can correct your hormonal imbalance, which is probably harder to do, then your acne will probably clear up.
Avatar f tn It is also possible that you have a variant of PCOS---which is a catch-all term for a hormone imbalance. If you want to regulate your periods, you might consider oral contraceptive pills--that may also help reduce the acne, and will protect your ovaries from developing cysts. When you are older you should have a complete exam to determine whether you have any uterine anomalies--they can be hereditary. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn Regardless, you should see your doctor about the changes associated with irregular periods, cramping, bloating, and acne. You could have a hormonal imbalance that can be corrected. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm a 17 year girl who's looking for some feedback. So I have this zit like thing on my right nipple that hasn't gone away in weeks. I thought it was just normal body acne or an ingrown hair. My right breast also kinda hurts and the pain seems to come and go. I see my doctor in a few days but I just wanted someone elses thoughts. I'm on birth control as well for a hormone imbalance.
1303813 tn?1303159362 Ima write EXACTLY what it says in the magazine! A decade ago Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) was a little known, and little understood condition. Today its the most common hormonal disorder among women of repoductivve age and the main cause of infertility in UK women. What's more, some experts believe that Polycystic Ovaries might affect as many as one in four women,, and that the number of sufferers is likely to rise further, thanks to modern life styles.
