Hormone imbalance causing lactation

Common Questions and Answers about Hormone imbalance causing lactation

hormone

Avatar f tn Women who deliver babies do not have their milk come in until a couple of days after giving birth. You likely have prolactemia which is like lactation but due to hormonal imbalance. I guess we will see what the ultrasound says but am guessing you are not going to turn out pregnant unless pregnancy has thrown your hormones off. If you aren't pregnant, get hormone levels checked. Too much estrogen production can make our cycles long and prolactemia happen.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....

1134902 tn?1296066144 anywho my question is...could this be caused by a hormone imbalance brought on by my intense workout? even tho Im only spotting, Im still cramping. My family doc is booked up until the new year, so I can't see her anytime soon.
Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
4833242 tn?1359860948 And my levels have been great ever since (over two decades later). The second issue and probably MOST related to the lactation was that I had a hormone imbalance. I was naturally producing too much estrogen. Hyperprolactemia is the technical name and this is a nice article to copy and paste to your browser that tells you all about it. https://www.hormone.org/diseases-and-conditions/hyperprolactinemia You should talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn Hi! So, I had this in my 20's. I wasn't pregnant. Your first thing to do, IF you are sexually active having intercourse, is to take a quick pregnancy test. If you aren't having intercourse or take a test and it is negative, then it's on to further investigation. For me, I had a hormone imbalance and thyroid issue. This a common cause. Hyperprolactemia is the technical name for it.
Avatar m tn Are these symptoms all related to harmone imbalance?. I tested for testosterone level 5years back and it seemed normal. what is wrong with me?. Please help me out guys.
Avatar n tn s to small to be causing any trouble 3x4 micro. My hormone tests that I have been able to get them to do have all been normal except for my TSH was at 3.2 but the FreeT4 was 1.2. They say that is normal but I'm finding it is questionable. I feel for you and I'm sorry I'm not a lot of help but I just wanted to let you know your not alone and hopefully someday we'll all know more.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to say this but I really think that all of your symptoms are thyroid related. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have your antibodies checked because if your antibodies are high they could be causing these symptoms even though your hormone levels are ok. The only symptom I didn't have is the sex drive during ovulation - mine was low all the time and I have Hashimoto's. Hope this was of any help.
Avatar f tn You could have a hormone imbalance. You really need to see an ob/gyn right away as you could now be anemic with bleeding for 8 weeks. Call your doctor and set up an appointment.
Avatar n tn You might want to get your thyroid function tested to make sure it is just the lack of (I think) progesterone that is causing your weight gain and not hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn hello ladies! So I am concerned and wanted to get some feedback, I have a hormone imbalance in my body where my left side (armpit etc) is less in everything. I don't grow Hardly any hair or get odor from sweat there. I never thought about it since they diagnosed me when I was 15. Now, I am concerned because my right breast has started to leak clear liquid, which is normal. But my left breast has nothing going on like that. It may be a little tender, even more so than the right.
Avatar n tn I have taken a hormone test and ob dr said i am post menopausal, but when i had an ultrasound completed i was ovulating. I think that this hormone imbalance is making me sick for the past two years and it is not anxiety. Can some one please give me guidance.
Avatar f tn It can be due to metrorrhagia(heavy periods). Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus. You should get a reevaluation done from your doctor. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Hello, Causes of post menopausal bleeding could be ovarian cyst fibroids and endometriosis, diseases of pituitary gland, hormonal imbalance of estrogen and progesterone, thyroid hormone imbalance and diabetes. Your doctor may consider tests like blood sugar levels, thyroid function test, prolactin, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSA), estrogen, and testosterone. Imaging studies, such as ultrasound, X-ray, and CT scan or MRI brain may also be recommended in certain individuals.
