Avatar f tn I have had 3 real migraine headaches in the last month that each last 3-4 days, two with the usual auras I have had for yrs w/o headaches, and one began in the middle of the night-- so can't be sure I didn't have an aura then too. It had been 11 months since I have had one of these aura episodes w/o headache. I just started 25mcg of thyroid hormone 2 months ago for a goiter + hypo symptoms.
Avatar f tn Headaches in women, particularly migraines, have been related to changes in the levels of the female hormone estrogen during a woman's menstrual cycle. Estrogen levels drop immediately before the start of the menstrual flow. Premenstrual migraines regularly occur during or after the time when the female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, decrease to their lowest levels.

Avatar f tn Yes and no. Headaches can happen from all the hormone changes. For me though I had to be put on some medicine because the migraines were affecting my vision. Severe headaches and migraines should be mentioned to your doctor and let him decide if it's a problem, especially if you're having other symptoms with them.

Avatar f tn Thank you for responding pep. I don't know a lot about migraines, but I have read some of the symptoms. My arms and hands were going numb and tingling, so you may be right. Avatar f tn ve been suffering for with headaches since I was in the 7th grade. I think they could hormone related since I sometimes miss my period and my breasts occasionally hurt. But I'm not sure. FYI I'm not on the pill or anything, so no issue there. I've been to different neurologists and have had many MRI and CT Scans, that all come back normal. I've been going to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, hoping they would catch something but everything appears normal.
337492 tn?1212458836 I started on 300mg of neurontin for bipolar disorder a week ago and was aware that another benefit is it would help with my migraines. I also take 500mg of magnesium for my headaches but I space it out so that it will not conflict with the neurontin. I had the strangest migraine last night and my aura was different and I have not suffered a headache for several months, last time being caused by Lamictil.
