1085628 tn?1326551885 I eat a lot of organic stuff, about 60% of what we eat is organic. We live in a small town and organic stuff is hard to come by, or we'd definitely do more. I hope to grow some stuff in a garden this year as well... that would be fun!! ...We tried last year but we ended up putting our daughters playground set over our garden! ha ha! Organic is great, it's the way I like my food. Pesticide and hormone free!!
Avatar n tn Thanks for that info. I did not know about the Free versus the Total and which one is better. I think I trust our Vet more than the doctors.
Avatar f tn I bought some organic free range chicken tenders, seasoned it then baked it and used that throughout the week. My salad consisted of organic Romaine lettuce, organic baby spinach, organic kale and organic cilantro. And I was just using a dressing that's low in sugar. I also started juicing. This morning I drank carrot with apple, pineapple, orange, and added turmeric. I don't juice everyday but I have done it several times.
Avatar m tn S-TSH, S-T4 (Free), P-TSH, PT4 (Free) - which were all normal except P-TSH, which was slightly elevated (my rate was 4,51 when the border was 4,20) My question is: could these results indicate any kind of thyroid-problems? And what does it mean in practice to have a slight elevation in TSH from plasma when i have a normal score in TSH from serum?

782017 tn?1243432891 I am so very sorry to hear that it didn't work. I know how devastating it can be. I personally try to eat as much organic foods as I can, because pesticides and preservatives contain estrogens which can throw off your hormones even more! You'd be surprised what's available - even convenience foods come organic. I live in the sticks and we just have a Wegmans but they have a pretty large section.
Avatar m tn I am just really confused and trying to work through possibility of thyroid cancer versus Hashimotos versus nothing at all. Each test seems to be telling me a different story. Any advice or help anyone can offer would be appreciated. I am due to see an Endo in two days but want to try and have a clearer picture before then.
374593 tn?1257879950 Thanks!!! yea once i was told i might have an endometrioma I started buying the hormone free meat (but of course when we do go out, which isn't much I still gotta eat!) but also been tyring to cut back on wheat, sounds like there are a lot of studies that say cutting back or out wheat is huge for endo! so we are experienmenting with rice pasta and cookies with different types of flour - shopped in the gluten free section of the store the other day !
9263335 tn?1403463032 Just sharing a link to a website offering free trials on organic diapers :) all you have to pay is $5.95 for shipping. I just ordered my free trial. http://dollardiaperclub.com/baby-products?cam=efm&sub=09-19-2014&ref=5022425.
Avatar m tn You should try organic or cage free eggs. Most grocery stores carry them.
Avatar f tn Dear river1980, Both Femara (letrozole) and Arimidex (anastrozole) are aromatase inhibitors used in the treatment of hormone receptor positive breast cancer in post menopausal women. Aromatase inhibitors block the enzyme aromatase (found in the body's muscle, skin, breast and fat), which is used to convert androgens (hormones produced by the adrenal glands) into estrogen. In the absence of estrogen, tumors dependent on this hormone for growth will shrink.
Avatar f tn TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many things that at best it is only an indicator, not a diagnostic, to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms, and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3. If you were tested beyond TSH, please post results and reference ranges shown on the lab report. Also, please tell us more specifically about symptoms you have.
Avatar f tn We turned to an all natural and organic diet. We ate only organic fruits and veggies, hormone-free and grass-fed meats, organic dairy products, and a lot of whole grains. I also started a new exercise routine by going to the gym at least three times a week and walking every day. Five months after we were told that children were impossible, we found out we were pregnant! I just had my daughter on April 20th. I had a normal, healthy pregnancy, and she is absolutely healthy and beautiful.
Avatar f tn Ask you MD for those results, If he did not do the Free T3 and Free T4m ask him to do them and request a copy of the results.
Avatar m tn My dog seemed healthy when I was feeding him standard store bought dog food. When I changed over to a high quality organic dog food I was simply looking out for him in the long run. It's the same kind of thinking with hormone levels. Im just looking out for him.
362249 tn?1441315018 You no longer have to buy directly from the farmers anymore either. Tyson makes hormone free chicken and Hormel has hormone free lunch meat. Just depends on where you are. I can get the hormone free meat from the butcher in my grocery store. Just make sure the package actualy states hormone free. All Natural does not mean hormone free. Also watch your eggs. Poutry is the worst. They realy pump those birds up!!! I'm not saying it's easy, but it is getting easier just since I started.
Avatar m tn Next step is to compare test results for the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3, to their reference ranges. Your Free T4 is at 38% of its range. Your Free T3 is at 37.5% of its range. So they are well within range; however, the ranges are far too broad due to the erroneous assumptions used to establish those ranges. Being in range does not assure adequacy. TSH does not cause symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new... and trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I think it's Hashimotos/Thyroid related, but doctors (as I hear is common) keep telling me No, not yet maybe in a few years... I'm a 37 year old female, migraines & allergies/sinus stuff have been my only issue up until the last 1-2 years. Gluten-Free for 1.5 years (for migraines, originally).
Avatar n tn Fibroids and polyps are almost always benign (~99%) so hysterectomy would be overkill. And hysterectomy causes lifelong harm. I call it the surgery that keeps on giving... problem after problem... even if the ovaries are "preserved." Intercourse or pelvic exams can cause polyps to bleed. And if they aren't removed at the base, they can recur and cause heavy bleeding. What were the reasons for the D&C's - as part of the polyp removal or was your lining too thick?
Avatar n tn I also went gluten free, dairy free and try to eat as much organic foods as I can. There are foods that cause inflammation like corn. Google anti-inflammatory foods. Stay away from white potatoes and anything that has tomatoe in them or spicy foods. You may want to ask your primary to test for auto-immune antibodies. Mine came back positive for a couple things. If I were you, I would request a blood test of foods that you may be allergic or sensitive to.
Avatar f tn Basically, it’s best to use as much organic, “free-range” food as you can afford. And if you drink coffee or tea, make sure you only buy the organic versions: Commercially grown coffee and tea are some of the most pesticide and herbicide contaminated crops in the world. Also be sure your drinking water is as pure as possible. Filter out chlorine and other additives, and if possible fluoride, too, although that requires more expensive technology.
