Avatar f tn ve been on a gluten free diet for about a month. My episodes of heart palpitations and SOB seem to be more frequent. I take Lexapro and propranolol to help. Do you have any other suggestions? I've been to several doctors here in San Antonio and it's difficult to find someone who wants to deal with me with these issues. I'm 41 and don't smoke, no heart disease or COPD, and exercise a few times a week. BMI is 21. Thank you for your thoughts.
Avatar f tn s step dad, Papa, which we do not like/want. She tells us we should control our son when we go to restaurants and he has a meltdown for 2 seconds, he's 1... and that we basically can't do the things we plan on doing when we can etc) she's a handful... this pregnancy so far is very easy compared to my first, but my patience with her seems super thin. All I want to do is yell at her and roll my eyes. Basically speak my mind instead of tip-toing around her.
Avatar n tn thyroid antibodies would be good to test in addition to Free T3 and Free T4. Good luck!
780647 tn?1304020942 Welcome to the gastroenterology community! So I'm not quite sure what you mean by what can you buy but here are some tips. Find alternatives to your normal gluten foods. For example buy gluten free cereals, pasta, and bread (some of these are only found at certain stores). Also read every single label of everything you eat (things you wouldn't expect like soy sauce are not gluten free). Also don't eat out at any restaurants while you are trying the gluten free diet.

Avatar n tn Look up I breathe I'm hungry, wonderful page with great keto recipes. Also look up diabetes daily.
915277 tn?1252573113 A doctor must always look at the free T4 and free T3 thyroid hormone levels. He should consider them significant when both are below the mid-point of their reference ranges in a symptomatic patient, and they certainly represent hypothyroidism when both in the lower third of their population ranges, regardless of the TSH.
Avatar f tn m having a difficult time finding restaurants in the Bergen County area (I live in the Pascack Valley) that are allergy-aware and safe. Can you give me some suggestions? I'd love to be able to safely dine out with my family. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Depends on the blood test. One only looks for the hormone and one tests the exact amount in your blood. (can't remember the exact names of them at the moment though) The first one can be wrong, while the other is rarely wrong unless a lab error was done.
Avatar f tn TSH 1.97, T3 Total: 201,T-3 uptake 23, T-4 Free 1.3,T-4 Total 17.9, Free T4 index 4.1. (testosterone, free 0.37) Feb 2009: TSH 2.02, T-4 Total 17.4, Free T4 index 4.2 (all others WNL) The ANA titer was (+) but the ANA panel was “negative” except for Centromere B antibody was positive @1.0. I was referred to my PCP to discuss “mild thyroid dysfunction” she repeated my TSH 6 weeks later which was reported as “normal, no other thyroid levels were taken.
Avatar f tn My son was born at 33+3, so my previous ob said with subsequent pregnancies I will need weekly hormone shots to prevent preterm labor. I am now 12+4 with my second child. In 1.5 weeks I see a doctor (I usually see a midwife) to discuss preterm labor prevention. Anyone have experience with pregnancy after having a preemie? What sort of side effects do the hormone shots have?
Avatar f tn I felt amazing after taking the Levothyroxine (50mcg once daily) but began feeling really run a few weeks later so she ordered a full work up and included the TSH within Reflex to FT4 and free T3. Comparing the results, they both lowered TSH w/reflex is now 1.73 and my free T3 is 2.9. Per labs this is still within normal range albeit the lower end for Free T3. My doctor is out of the office for the week and I thought to come here for some insight as I am completely new to this.
Avatar n tn feel free to message or add me if you need someone to talk to ok...
Avatar f tn It can seem impersonal but I prefer letting people get what they want. Restaurants are usually good. Strike up a conversation about food and see if you can get a clue as to where she likes. Also, movies. Everyone likes free entertainment.
Avatar m tn About 13 months ago I had surgery to remove a pituitary tumor and I am now on full hormone replacement. For the most part my recovery has gone great. However, I believe I do have problems with either the dosage (.125mg) of my thyroid hormone or the drug itself (levoxyl). I have an endocrinologist that has been with me since the surgery and they refuse to change anything because my T4 level is in the "normal" range at 1.5.
1425157 tn?1311651679 i was told my labs showed a free ts4 of only 7 but my tsh was within normal--my question is,,,can that low free ts4 cause symptoms or no because the tsh was within norm low but normal,,i seem to have symptoms and one clinic doc said we could try sinthroid at low dose-but fam doc and internest that was looking into my heart palpitations said no-- your normal no need for meds just keep an eye on it..what do you guys think???
Avatar f tn If New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has his way, you won't be gulping down any 44-ounce Cokes at any of the Big Apple's eateries after March 2013. Citing what he says is the contribution sugary beverages make to obesity in the U.S., Bloomberg says the buck, and the big Dr. Pepper, stops with him. “Obesity is a nationwide problem, and all over the United States, public health officials are wringing their hands saying, ‘Oh, this is terrible.
773755 tn?1328119777 Only food labeled organically grown is free of pesticides. Even then, certain low toxicity pesticides have been allowed since the federal gov't instituted national labeling rules. I only buy organically grown food to eat at home, though I'm not so rigid as to skip eating at restaurants. All non-organic farming is loaded with nasties, from the seed on down.
Avatar f tn So the TSH is 197- no decimal point? WOW! I think the link I sent you talks about free vs. total testosterone. Hopefully someone else here has been through the hormone testing and can give you better advice. I just know what I learn in the lab and don't have personal experience with these tests. It's complicated!
Avatar n tn I suggest you should go ahead with the hormone therapy. it has proven to be effective - it decreases the disease free interval, the survival rate and decreases the chances of recurrence and spread of cancer. Do keep us posted on how you are doing. Good luck and best wishes.
Avatar f tn A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypothyroid patient clinically, for symptoms, by testing and adjusting Free T4 and Free T3 levels as needed to relieve hypo symptoms. Symptom relief should be all important, not just test results. You can read all about this in the following link.
Avatar n tn And now my step fathers birthday is the day before hers. Biggest bonus is restaurants give you a free meal on your birthday sometimes and they usually let us all eat for free haha.
