532636 tn?1213128073 They said the spectrum is too wide and that I am on birth control so the results will not come out right. I ordered a hormone test from ZRT labs and the results came back that several of my hormones were low. The gynecologists said that is probably becasue I was on the pill and it affected the results. But everyone who knows me and touches me says that I am so hot it is unbelievable. I sweat excessively and I feel a little irritable. It is not stress or nerves. I am positive it is hormones.
Avatar n tn Pls do not take Yasmin continuously without any hormone free periods on your own as you may experience breakthrough bleeding or spotting. If you desire extended periods free intervals, then you will have to take extended use birth control pills like Seasonale.I sincerely suggest to consult a gynecologist in that case. I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Low thyroid (hypothyroid) will decrease quality of living if thyroid hormone levels )T3 and T4) are not corrected by daily replacement hormone (a pill). People;e do not just suddenly dies from this, over time it can effect other organs and be dangerous.
Avatar f tn Is it weird for my Free T4 to be low, while my Free T3 is seemingly fine? My cycles would range from 14-22 days. On the pill, I was more like 17-24 days. Better, but still not great. I stopped taking it, because I don't see the point. I have also gained 15+lbs, and while I've managed to lose about 5lbs, that's with following a fairly strict diet and working out 5-6 times a week. I did start supplementing vit d and vit b this week. We'll see if that brings my numbers up.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
797256 tn?1237636468 Hello, I am writing because I have lots of symptoms of PCOS and 5 years ago I went through fertiltiy and found that I have PCOS, but now 5 years later I had my hormone levels taken just by family doctor and they say they are normal but what is normal. Can anyone help me? I don't have periods, I grow hair in places you don't want and more here are the lab results from lab. Estradiol (estrogen) 26 pg/mL FSH 5.0 mIU/mL LH 12.2 mIU/mL These are the ones they have done. What does this mean?
Avatar m tn I agree that if this continues to rise then you will need to take your son to a pediatric endocrinologist for further blood testing tio check the actual thyroid hormone levels (free t3 and free t4). If these are low then your child will need to begin thyroid hormone supplimentation/replacement medication ASAP. Brain and bodies of babies are growing VERY quickly and this can be slowed due to low thyroid hormone.
Avatar f tn What are your current thyroid hormone levels? You should be getting tested for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Please post your results, along with the reference ranges, as these vary from lab to lab so must come from your own report. What dosage of each medication did your doctor rx?
Avatar n tn thyroid antibodies would be good to test in addition to Free T3 and Free T4. Good luck!

Avatar f tn I know there used to be something called the mini pill that the doc I used to work for prescribed for nursing moms but I haven't worked in that field for about 15 yrs.
Avatar f tn All the actual hormone pills and then sugar pills for the off week? When you finish the last sugar pill, the next day you take your regular pill whether you still are spotting or not. Is that what you mean?
Avatar f tn Last year I tried for a baby through IUI which they have to read ur hormone levels I had only just stopped the pill..... It read as if I was infertile but this year they have done the reading again and my AMH is normal level all because I have been free off the pill for a a whole now.

Avatar f tn Birth control pills do lessen the effectiveness of thyroid hormone and they interfere with thyroid hormone levels, so I quit taking them as well. Hormones will fluctuate after quitting the pill. It may take several months to adjust. I quit in December and I'm still getting the period acne. I feel like a teenager. When were you diagnosed with Graves? Any surgery or RAI? If so, are you on thyroid hormone? Also, what are your current FT4 and FT3 levels?
Avatar f tn So if your current levels are normal, both TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 then need to repeat the test every 3 months or so to make sure your thyroid hormone levels not going down. An increasing TSH number often means thyroid function is declining, for example if your TSH level is now 2.0 and after 3 months it gone to 4.0 then probably you need to start thyroid hormone pill as hypothyroidism affects whole body and untreated hypothyroidism can have many complications.
Avatar f tn Your doctor should have tested you for Free T4, Free T3 and TSH, at the very least. Hopefully, s/he would also have tested you for thyroid antibodies to determine if you have Hashimoto's. Once we see your actual hormone levels, we'll be able to tell you if they are adequate or not. Many doctors believe that as long as results fall within the normal ranges, everything is fine, but that's not the case...
Avatar f tn TSH is a pituitary hormone that doctors erroneously think gives them all the info they need to diagnose and treat hypothyroidism. That is very wrong. TSH does not even correlate well with either thyroid hormone Free T4 or Free T3, and has only a negligible correlation with hypothyroid symptoms, which are the reason you went to the doctor in the first place.
