After hysterectomy, hormone replacement therapy would consist of estrogen alone usually given daily by pill or sometimes weekly or biweekly skin patch.However hormonal replacement therapy should be given for a short time only as long term use may be associated with a small increase in breast cancer.
In my opinion you should consult a gynecologist and start with hormone replacemenr therapy.
As I've mentioned in my previous post, I have the strong feeling that I have a hormone imbalance. For 3 years, I've been overemotional/irritable/nervous, have had light/skipped periods, persistent acne,(I'm 20 and I don't feel like this should be happening), and hot flashes. These problems have gotten progressively worse over the years. The problem is though, that I feel like I have the symptoms of both estrogen dominance and estrogen deficiency.
Soy has estrogen like effects... have you tried drinking vanilla soymilk? You might want to get your thyroid function tested to make sure it is just the lack of (I think) progesterone that is causing your weight gain and not hypothyroidism.
I feel like I might have a hormone imbalance, and I'd like my hormone levels tested. Should I see an OB GYN or can I just see a regular doctor for a hormone test?

I actually had an imbalance where I produced too much estrogen. I had things like the mask of pregnancy when not pregnant which has a real name of melasma, very long cycles where I had infrequent periods, infertility due to too much estrogen (I was like my own walking birth control pill), etc. My hormones evened out on their own.
A simple blood test will tell your doctor your hormone levels. Progesterone excess is well known for someone bleeding frequently or spotting often.
it sounds to me as well that you are going into perimenopause...unfortunately when they took your uterus they had to cut blood supplies so women who have undergone this surgery tend to go into menopause approximately 5 years sooner then they would have because of loss of blood supply to the ovaries.

It can be due to metrorrhagia(heavy periods). Various factors causing it are endometriosis,ectopic pregnancy,hormone imbalance,endometrial hyperplasia,polyps,use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus.

Is there a link between breast lumps,cysts, cancer due to hormone imbalance since it showed up so soon after my hysterectomy. I do have fibrocysts. Also, is there a program I could get some assistance to get an ultrasound to have it checked out even though there doesn't seem to be anything there anymore.

I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
